Grey Wedding at Oldfield Club by Britt Croft Photography
I can't wait for you to feast your eyes on this treat from Britt Croft Photography! Because I just KNOW you're going to love all the charming details in this orange and grey wedding at Oldfield Club. For starters, I'm loving the v-neck grey dresses the bridesmaids wore, not to mention their adorable orange and pink bouquets that pop right off their dresses. Carolina Yacht Club Wedding by amelia + dan photography
Carol & Chris tied the knot over Memorial Day weekend at St. James Episcopal Church on James Island where Bride Carol donned a lovely strapless gown as her maids wore a charming shade of orange.. Before celebrating with their guests at their Carolina Yacht Club wedding, the newlyweds hopped in the back of a 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible from Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle for a memorable trip Downtown. Chris's uncle's band, 17 South, kept the dance floor rocking throughout the night. To Carol's surprise, Chris joined his friends on stage to serenade his new bride. The evening came to a close when the couple departed under a tunnel of sparklers and hopped aboard a getaway boat as they headed off into the Charleston Harbor beneath the full moon. Thanks to amelia + dan photography for capturing all the details!

September Oaks Vineyard Wedding by The Happy Bloom
It seems like we officially ushered in the Fall season this weekend, what with the cold front and time change, and while I'm pretty excited for cooler temps and scarves, I'll always be a summer girl at heart. And for those of you who share my same need for long summer days and pastel color palettes, I know you'll enjoy this September Oaks Vineyard wedding in Ridgeland, South Carolina captured by The Happy Bloom. Bride Bevin stunned in an Elaya Vaughn gown that she paired with mint heels and a darling Twigs & Honey headpiece. She carried an amazing bouquet of peonies, garden roses and dahlias designed by The Flower Shop Bluffton. Josh donned a navy suit as he waited for his bride under a majestic oak tree. Prior to their wedding day, the couple followed Southern wedding tradition and buried a bottle of Bourbon at their ceremony site so it wouldn't rain on their big day! After they said 'I do', the couple dug up the bottle before celebrating (and enjoying macaroons!) with their guests.

Wedding Silhouettes - Southern Wedding Details
While reviewing submissions for our upcoming print magazine I came across a detail in Ashleigh & Tom’s vintage Boone Hall Plantation wedding that caught my eye. Wedding silhouettes! Not only did this couple incorporate their own silhouettes into their Charleston destination wedding but they also got their guests involved, too. Instead of a photo booth a couple enlisted the services of The Silhouette Lady to create individual silhouettes for each guests. How cool is that? A wedding favor that doubles as a family keepsake? Perfection. Weaving silhouette details throughout your reception décor immediately adds a touch of vintage to any Lowcountry evening and you’d be surprised where you can add that romantic touch. Check out a few of our favorites below and keep your eyes peeled for Ashleigh & Tom’s wedding in our Winter issue!
Charleston Destination Wedding at Wild Dunes Resort
OK Florist stole the show when designing the blooms for this killer Wild Dunes wedding, Bride Amber selected an eye-catching palette of coral and turquoise, perfect for a bash on the beach, to highlight their coastal ceremony. The couple envisioned a Charleston destination wedding that brought their loved ones together for a spiritual experience and that’s just what they got. Amber wore a beautiful lace gown with a timeless train. Her hair was effortlessly swept back by the team at Vanity Salon and she carried a luscious bouquet of of flowers. The Father-of-the-Bride built a stunning wooden cross to serve as the focal point for their Oceanside nuptials that Ok Florist adorned with coral charm peonies, beautiful roses and astible. After saying ‘I do’, the newlyweds made their way to the Dunes for some intimate time alone before celebrating the night away with their friends and family. Thanks to Richard Bell Photography for capturing all the details!

Cypress Gardens Engagement Session in Charleston, SC
Natalie's favorite movie is The Notebook, so while planning engagement session she knew she wanted to weave in a few elements to create her own "Notebook" so to speak. So, along with Judith of K A T S P H O T O S, Natalie and her husband-to-be Andrew, spent the first half of the day on the magical grounds of Cypress Gardens, home to some of the most memorable scenes of Nicholas Spark's The Notebook. Natalie donned a classic lace dress in navy before changing into a dreamy Peach dress from one of our favorite designers, Joanna August, while the couple canoed throughout the property. After, they made their way to the lovely Edisto Island where the finished the hot afternoon (105 degrees to be exact!) on Boneyard Beach. Once again, Joanna August was behind the stunning lilac dress Natalie rocked.

Creek Club at I'On Wedding by Sweetgrass Events & Anne Rhett Photography
After a week of sun and fun, David and Adrienne’s big day arrived. David started the day on the beaches of Wild Dunes, a spot where he and his family had vacationed for years, with a fresh catch, but soon he was off to greet the biggest catch of them all: his wife-to-be, Adrienne. After being married under the oaks overlooking the a creek, the two celebrated with a southern style supper. Sweetgrass Events created a truly heartfelt and homegrown affair at the Creek Club at I’On. Guests walked away with homemade peach preserves grown in the groom’s peach crop and canned by his mother. Doilies and delicate flowers abounded, and twin flower girls meant double the cuteness! As the sun eased down over the creek, it seemed that Adrienne’s sisters had been right in their toast, and that Nicholas Sparks couldn’t have written a better wedding scene. But what is romance without a little rock n roll? After dark, the band kicked things into high gear, causing dancing so fierce that it resulted in a seam rip or two! This wedding had it all: pearls, poise, and an authentically fun time for the couple and their families. Thanks to Anne Rhett Photography for capturing all the sweet details in this lovely Creek Club at I'On wedding!

Gold Wedding Inspiration for Your Lowcountry Wedding!
Y’all, I’m loving all of this gold trend that has been popping up in my inbox and cheering up my pinterest feed recently. In my eyes, it’s the perfect addition to any wedding color palette. From super shiny and oh-so sparkly, to more muted tunes, adding a little gold into your wedding day décor is totally in-style these days, and I don’t mean in-style like the terrible poufy sleeves bridesmaids dresses that our parents thought were super cool back in the 80’s, not to mention everyone’s rockin’ bangs, like legitimately chic and timeless for years to come. I’ve rounded up a few of my personal gold wedding inspiration favorites for you to feast your eyes on. I’m personally digging the gold gowns. To. Die. For. How could you not like rocking a gold wedding gown or bridesmaids dress?! What about those luscious gold sequined linens and a sparkly arrow to point your wedding guests in the right direct? Genius, I tell you!

Purple McCrady's Wedding by Carolina Photosmith
Amber and Jensen returned to their Carolina roots when they planned their destination wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. The couple currently calls California home and brought their relaxed, fun style to the East coast for a beautiful garden wedding ceremony in the heart of Holy City at the Confederate Home. Amber stunned in a fitted gown with a sweetheart neckline while her maids donned one-shouldered purple dresses. After saying 'I do', the couple and their bridal party hopped aboard a trolley to start the celebration. Mimi Nicole Events designed dreamy bouquets full of luscious white peonies with a romantic pop of pale purple. The reception kicked off with a luxurious seated dinner in the Long Room at McCrady's before guests dance the night away. Thanks to Carolina Photosmith for capturing such a lovely McCrady's Wedding!

Purple and Red Wedding in Charleston, SC
As we headed to Fall, and we see color palettes starting to change, I thought you would enjoy this purple and red wedding from Charleston, South Carolina. Captured by Diana Deaver Weddings, this beauty took place at the Creek Club at I'On. Bridesmaids donned floor-length black gowns, while the men sported classic black tuxedos. Full of orchids, ranunculus and tulips, I'm completely obsessing over the righteous blooms Branch Design Studio created in eye-catching shades of purple and red. The couple, Lauren and Brian, married in an outdoor ceremony along the water before joining their guests to celebrate the night away! I can't get enough of the hanging mason jars filled with votives and deep red roses!

Folly Beach Wedding by Gideon Photography
If this Folly Beach wedding doesn't have you running for the shoreline than I just don't know how to help you! This gorgeous coastal soiree at the Robinini by the Sea is the epitome of a low-key beach bash done right. It's simple and stunning and, most importantly, looks like one heck of a good time. Louie, the Groom, had a laid back morning getting ready with his groomsmen. We love their attire - khaki pants, suspenders and bow ties - perfect! Bride Stephanie enjoyed the early part of the day in the company of her closest gals and her pooch before slipping into her stunning gown. The back of the dress is just killer! The bridesmaids also rocked it in their minty blue dresses each added their personal flavor with varying necklaces. After a precious ceremony on the beach, the newlyweds enjoyed some time with their bridal party before celebrating with their guests! Mason jars, twine and hydrangea graced the tables while twinkle lights were strewn throughout. Thanks to Gideon Photography for making the trip to Charleston to capture this charming Folly Beach wedding!

Get Your Drape On: Wedding Draping
I'm sure you've all seen gorgeous images of custom wedding draping throughout the world of pinterest, and if you haven’t, don't worry we've got plenty for you to feast your eyes on. But the big question is, why should you drape? “One of the best ways to transform a space from a bare bones venue into something special is the simple addition of great fabric,” says Isabelle Donovan of Duvall Events. “Drapery can soften a space for a romantic and intimate occasion or create a dramatic statement to offer a cozy and elegant backdrop for your guests (and photos!).” One of our favorite ways to incorporate draping into your wedding venue is with a lovely swag through rustic wooden beams (swoon city!). It will add a touch of glamour to your décor and works well at a local venues like Pepper Plantation or Boone Hall Plantation. Set the tone of the evening by adding doorway drapes to frame the entrance of your reception. We promise your guests will enjoy the romantic ambiance! Every Lowcountry brides love a beautiful tent (am I right?) but we also like to take it one step further by adding a tent liner. A custom liner offers your choice of fabric, style of pleating and is always fresh, crisp and clean which is essential for any Southern wedding. The Duvall Events team hand irons (yes, you heard that right. Hand. Irons.) and individually staples every single pleat of a custom tent liner for a truly stunning finished product. Check out some of Duvall’s recent handiwork along with a few our favorites from the Pinterest-universe!
