Coastal Wedding Engagement by Billie Jo and Jeremy Photography
We are spending this beautiful Fall day preparing skimming through countless Lowcountry submissions to share with you and we think we found one you're really going to love. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce you to the Charleston-based team of Billie Jo and Jeremy Photography. This dynamic duo has a style we just can't get enough of and I'm quite certain you'll feel the same way. The talented photogs had the opportunity to capture their good friends, Lauren and James, for a coastal engagement session that has Lowcountry written all over it! Lauren and James wanted to do a little something different for their engagement shoot and decided a trip out to the barrier islands would do just the trick. Even with storms in the forecast and clouds in the sky, they hopped on their boat and headed out to the islands for a memorable afternoon.

Vibrant Folly Beach Wedding by Duvall Events
If you've made your mind up and beach wedding is in your future, then you'll love every minute of this vibrant Folly Beach affair designed by Duvall Events and photographed by Richard Bell Photography. The beautiful bride sported a simple, elegant gown with a pair of Jack Rogers while the groom wore a tan suit. The tables were set with bud vases filled with an assortment of wildflowers while Jeanne's bouquet was full of luscious, pink peonies and daisies! After a touching ceremony, the newlyweds took some time to themselves for pictures on the dock before celebrating the night away with all of their guests!
From Jeanne: "A Celebration of Love - The most important thing to us in our wedding was celebrating love. We wanted the focus to be on the love between us, the love between us and our families, and the love between us and our friends rather than the little details and decorations. We wanted a naturally beautiful setting so we settled on the location, a Folly Beach house at the Washout, which happened to be owned by the family of our friend who introduced us. We wanted simple but elegant atmosphere so we chose to have string lights, seasonal wildflowers, and candlelight for decorations."

Pink Oldfield Club Wedding by Jill Doty Photography
I’ve been working on the perfect intro for this Oldfield Club wedding and it just wasn't flowing. Then, it finally hit me. I’m in love with this wedding because it is totally my style. In fact, my wedding flowers were the exact same color palette. Charming shades of pink, a pop of orange, a little coral and a touch of green…and peonies, lots of peonies! Just perfect for a big, Southern bash. Not only do I love the design, but I’m head-over-heels for this gorgeous wedding venue. Located in Okatie, South Carolina (right outside of Hilton Head), Oldfield River Club set the stage for any gal’s dream Lowcountry wedding. It offers up a stunning outdoor option which allows for ceremonies under the palmetto trees. I mean, come on. How perfect is that? Kayla and Josh made sure to utilize the property to the fullest extent with a ceremony on the lawn, pictures on the dock and dancing on the patio. My favorites details – the adorable flower girl’s pale pink dress, the bridesmaids’ monogrammed fishing shirts, the rustic addition of the ceremony doors and ALL of the dreamy florals from Fleurish of Statesboro. A big thank you to Jill Doty Photography for capturing all the lovely details.

Thomas Bennett House Wedding Inspiration from Jeanne Mitchum Photography
If you're in the market to be inspired, then I'm about to hook you up with this Thomas Bennett House beauty! The lovely Jeanne Mitchum Photography sent over this killer collaboration with Wildflowers Inc. and I immediately knew I had to share it. The color palette starts with varying shades of green and slowly adds in magenta with pops of yellow and blue. Not only did the vivid color scheme pull me in, but the awesome mixture of textures that Wildflowers Inc. created completely sealed the deal. I'm loving the use of succulents (big and small!), the addition of billy balls and how effortlessly the centerpieces made its way down the table. The invitation suite from Merrymint Designs combined a beautiful emerald green with gold accents while the intricate cake with lace-like details was styled to the tee! The vintage table settings with local honey favors from Bees-R-Us were the perfect way to finish off the look. Last but not least, the lovely Amanda looked divine in her lace gown with a sweetheart neckline.

Rewined Candles Factory Tour in Charleston, SC
This summer, I asked my friend Mackenzie of The Click Chick Photography to join me on a field trip to the aromatic Rewined Candles Factory. While I may have procrastinated in getting the post up, I’m still daydreaming about the delicious scents and the wonderful people that make Rewined one of our local favorites. Anita, their marketing gal, and a wonderful candle maker in her own right, was kind enough to give us a peak inside their world and share the tale of how our favorite wicks were born. The story of Rewined Candles immediately made me think, “How did I not think of that?!” Founder Adam Fetsch had been working in the food & bev industry and regularly witnessed the disposal of countless wine bottles. Soon a light bulb went off and he figured out the perfect way to re-purpose them - wine bottle candles with scents that mimic the tasting notes of wine. Genius! In addition the popular wine scents (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, etc.) they've recently added the Produce line to their repertoire. These lovelies bring the fresh scents of the farm right into your living room (think Carrot, Cilantro, Honey, Melon and more). I'm currently obsessing over the Fall seasonal, which I'm hoping will become a staple, the Fig. Our favorite part - these beauties are the perfect addition to your wedding day weekend. Whether it's favors at your wedding shower or a parting gift for your guests at your reception, everyone's nostrils will thank you! Oh, and our friends at Rewined could use your help. They're a finalist in the 2014 Martha Stewart American Made Contest and would love for you to throw them a vote - or two!

Navy Pavilion at Patriots Point Wedding by Sweetgrass Social
If you're a Southern gal who's in the mood for a preppy affair, then sit down and take a peek at this Pavilion at Patriots Point wedding from the sweet ladies at Sweetgrass Social. It's everything you could want in a Lowcountry wedding and so much more. We love the navy color palette, the boys in their dinner jackets (so very T-Rav of them!), the Citadel ceremony, the charming Navy table runners and last but definitely not least, Shannon's stunning gown. Thanks to Jamie Clayton Photography for capturing all of the wonderful details.
"Selecting our readings and readers was very important to us. My grandmothers read a poem called 'On Your Wedding Day'. They are two of my favorite people in the entire world, and it was very important to me to include them. The poem, which was about marriage and the new beginnings, was so fitting for the occasion, and I thought there was no one better to share that than two women who I looked up to and had great loves in their life. We also had Dan's brother's fiance (and the mom of our adorable flower girl) read 1st Corinthians. We knew it was a popular reading, but it's message was very important to us."

Pepper Plantation Wedding from Carolina Photosmith
Just last week, I was at a photo shoot for the upcoming A Lowcountry Wedding print magazine. Vendors from across the Southeast had driven in and weeks of preparation had gone into this one afternoon. Naturally, it rained. What started as a few sprinkles quickly turned into a downpour and by the end of the day, we were all soaking wet and ready to go home. While we definitely made the most of the situation, I couldn't help but think about brides who have to deal with less than ideal weather on their wedding day and how they better love their back up plan! While the weather may have caused today’s couple, Tara + Chris, to make a last minute change and move their ceremony indoors, you’d never guess it was their Plan B. With the fires lit in both fireplaces and the mantle covered with garland and candles, the couple wed indoors in a romantic and cozy setting. Cru Catering delivered yet another fantastic meal while Booty Call kept guests up and moving with their stellar repertoire and lively horn section. Thanks to Carolina Photosmith for capturing such a charming Pepper Plantation wedding!
