Next week, we start pre-orders for A Lowcountry Wedding Magazine, so mark your calendars to make sure you get your copy!  For our vendor friends, we also have a handful of ad spots left at some pretty ridiculous rates and we'd love to include you in the party.  Shoot us an email and we can chat :)  I'm totally in love with today's pale purple color palette from Travis and Ashley's Creek Club wedding designed By Invitation Only...Event Planning & Design.  The sweet couple both grew up on Lake Murray and were brought together by the University of South Carolina.  On the night of Cinco de Mayo, in the beautiful city of Charleston, Travis proposed in front of pineapple water fountain.  This past May the duo tied the knot on a gorgeous Spring day along the banks of the Hobcaw Creek in a charming Lowcountry wedding.  Thanks to KICKSTAND STUDIO for capturing all the details!

Creek Club at I'On Wedding by Sweetgrass Events & Anne Rhett Photography

After a week of sun and fun, David and Adrienne’s big day arrived. David started the day on the beaches of Wild Dunes, a spot where he and his family had vacationed for years, with a fresh catch, but soon he was off to greet the biggest catch of them all: his wife-to-be, Adrienne. After being married under the oaks overlooking the a creek, the two celebrated with a southern style supper. Sweetgrass Events created a truly heartfelt and homegrown affair at the Creek Club at I’On. Guests walked away with homemade peach preserves grown in the groom’s peach crop and canned by his mother. Doilies and delicate flowers abounded, and twin flower girls meant double the cuteness! As the sun eased down over the creek, it seemed that Adrienne’s sisters had been right in their toast, and that Nicholas Sparks couldn’t have written a better wedding scene. But what is romance without a little rock n roll? After dark, the band kicked things into high gear, causing dancing so fierce that it resulted in a seam rip or two! From Fia Forever Photography: "Kellie and Nick met on a cold, snowy afternoon near Burlington, VT. The small New England town was a perfect place for Kellie to advance her TV News reporting career and for Nick to take his first job in the US Coast Guard. Kellie traveled upper New England investigating, covering breaking news stories. While Nick patrolled the surrounding international waters protecting our country. It was 11.12.11 on Kiawah Beach, South Carolina– the day Nick proposed his love and asked for her hand in marriage! There, at sunset, with the waves crashing and with her two best friends by her side (Nick and the couple’s black lab), Nick proposed and the engaged couple toasted to a lifetime together. They exchanged vows in front of family and friends in an outdoor intimate ceremony on April 26, 2013 in Mount Pleasant, SC. Soul mates, and best friends, the happily married couple enjoy traveling and spending time with their two black labs. With every day brings more love, happiness and eternal bliss for each other!"

We love when brides choose to host their weddings in Charleston SC!  The beauty in the Lowcountry is unmatched and they always make for a great time!  Ashley and Michael first laid eyes on each other while at a work conference in Cancun and quickly were inseparable.  So, when it was time say "I do", they wanted it to be something their friends and family could enjoy. The obvious enjoyable answer... a Charleston wedding at the beautiful Creek Club at I'On. They wanted something small, unique and classy and with the help of Wildflowers Inc, they got just that!  The couple selected an ocean blue, and soft, mint green as their color palette. The food was fantastic, the decor was perfection and the tunes were on point.  Thanks to Wanda Cavazos of Richard Bell Photography for capturing all the details!

I know, I know!  Sorry doesn’t quite make up for the complete lack of blogging that’s taken place on ALW over the past week.  I was off in Boston enjoying a business-related vacay, and while I had every intention of getting a few posts in, faulty hotel internet and the pure joy of being semi-unplugged (minus instagram, you know I can’t give that up!) was kind of awesome :)  So, I apologize for the abrupt pause in your daily dose of Lowcountry wedding inspiration and email response, but I’m now officially back and kicking off this week with a gorgeous Charleston wedding from the talented, Richard Bell Photography.   This Bride + Groom combined a lovely pink and purple color palette with some mouthwatering ham biscuits, sweet potato fries and even some Firefly vodka for a one-of-a-kind celebration at the Creek Club at I'On!

You know, I think we've only shared a wedding video one other time and it was forever ago, so I'm really excited that Charleston wedding vendors, Amanda + Jeff of Dreampop Media recently reached out to us to share this beauty!  Katie stunned in a one shoulder gown while her dapper husband-to-be wore his military attire.   The couple treated their guest to a wonderful Lowcountry evening laced with mason jars at the Creek Club at I'On.  Dinner included ham biscuits, sweet potato fries some serious donuts!

Coming off a dreary weekend in the Lowcountry, I figured we all could use a little Charleston wedding pick-me-up, eh?  This beautiful Creek Club at I’On wedding comes to us straight from ALW Bride Virginia, and it is filled to the brim with lovely DIY details.  The adorable couple tied the knot in an intimate, outdoor ceremony under the trees.  Virginia stunned in a strapless gown and hand-painted TOMS, while her maids rocked blush-toned dresses and cowboy boots!  Virginia + Jonathan enlisted the services of Carter’s Kitchen to treat their guests to a delicious menu of upscale Southern cuisine, while the crew at Cupcake presented their sugary creations.
