Magnolia Plantation Carriage House Wedding by Richard Bell Photography

Happy Southern Wedding Sunday to our favorite ladies!  We're getting March started with a beautiful Magnolia Plantation Carriage House wedding from the talented crew at Richard Bell Photography.  Samantha + Max adroned the Carriage House in a preppy color palette of blue, yellow and white, while Cupcake treated guests to some tasty treats! charleston weddings, hilton head weddings, myrtle beach weddings

From the bride: "Like many couples, we wanted our wedding day to really reflect who we are, while also remaining fairly traditional and staying on a tight budget. We selected Magnolia Plantation's Carriage House for the beautiful venue that it provides and we wanted our southern roots to shine. One of our close friends is officiating our ceremony under the beautiful hundred year old oaks draped with softly lit lanterns. We added touches of lace and burlap to keep with the theme of rustic southern charm. Duvall Events continued our theme by providing low country cuisine, including Charleston's famous shrimp and grits and Palmetto Brewery beer. Everything from our monogrammed mason jars to the fresh daisy center pieces really pulled our event together to make for a classic southern wedding."

McCrady's Wedding {Bridgette + Asher}

Oh, lawd!  We’ve got a dreamy Charleston wedding at a Downtown gem, McCradys, from Jenna Marie Photography.  The sweet couple (and seriously, aren’t the presh?) compiled a talented team of Charleston wedding vendors to pull off this one-of-a-kind celebration!  The bridesmaids were dressed in sky blue frocks that were adorned with fabulously feminine bouquets from Branch Design Studio, that I am just dying over.  What I really love is how the ladies of Sweet Grass Social Event & Design nailed the entire reception.  The gals pulled in a chic yellow chevron pattern to  bring the entire soiree together. toms wedding shoesbranch design studiosweetgrass social event designcharleston weddingscharleston wedding bouquetcharleston wedding blogcharleston wedding vendorslowcountry weddings

Coastal Lowcountry Wedding Inspiration from Kelly Sauer Photography

Charleston photographer Kelly Sauer of Girl in the White Dress must know me way too well.  I'm pretty certain she knew the minute I saw this darling anniversary shoot that it would just set my heart a-flutter...and boy, did it!  The couple, Rachel + Bruce,  headed back to the place where they said 'I do', Bruce's picturesque parent's home, for this sweet inspiration shoot filled with adorable DIY details and loads of Lowcountry wedding charm!  I mean, there's a joggling board and a dock...what more could you want?  The whole afternoon was relaxed and effortless which was evident in Rachel's picnic-esque selection of food (salmon and smoked turkey finger sandwiches, Barefoot Contessa lemon bars, and sweet tea), fresh fruit (pears, lemons, and muscadine grapes) and a little mint to brighten the feel of things. Kelly incorporated soft pops of red as she designed and created the jewelry, bouquets, favors and centerpieces full of happy-go-lucky daisies.  I must say, Kelly's adorable daughter Piper may have just stolen the show in her role as the flower girl...don't ya think?

Whitney + Brian {Crystal Falls} Southern Wedding Vendors

It's been an exciting first week on our new site!  We love our new look and can't wait to show you what we've got in store!  Think even more gorgeous Southern wedding loveliness, wonderful southern vendors and inspiration for days.  Thanks to everyone for their kind words about our fabulous new design and all the love about this week's real weddings.  To get a jump start on the weekend, we're going to wrap things up with a lovely Southern wedding from Georgia photographer Liz Yeakle.  The couple, Whitney + Brian, tied the knot in laid back outdoor ceremony at Crystal Falls in Dawsonville, Georgia.  Their rustic yellow color palette was accented with lots of sunflowers and cowboy boots!

Keesha + Ben {Nashville Wedding}

Today's we're sharing a classic Nashville affair from Jonathon Campbell Photography.  Bride Keesha stunned in her off-the-shoulder gown (that I just love!) as she wed her college sweetheart on her daddy's farm.  The couple chose an elegant yellow color palette that they complimented with a beautiful white and black print.

Tell us a little bit about how you met your husband.  How long have you known each other?
We met while in college working at a local grocery store.  We have known each other for eight years.

Let's hear about your engagement...
Ben surprised me and hid the ring in my stocking on Christmas Eve of 2009. We were engaged for 16 months.

Your wedding was filled with gorgeous details.  Did any have special meaning? What was your favorite?
About 6 months before the wedding a storm came through our town and one of the trees from the double oak fell.  I was heartbroken. I had always imagined having my wedding under a tree. My dad and a family friend came to the rescue. I saw some old church windows at another venue online and asked if they could build the windows for me.  The windows have the most special meaning because my dad had built them by hand. At the end of the day the tree falling was actually a blessing because I have something special that my dad made and the ceremony was beautiful in front of the widows.
-Another special detail was our cookie bar. We had 8 different types of cookies and it was a hit. A friend of the family made over 1,000 cookies.

When I'm going through a wedding, there is always an image or two that stick out.  Sometimes it's a beautiful detail or an amazing shot but usually it's a special moment....and I just love Keesha's favorite shot as her and Ben have officially been pronounced husband and wife!

Tell us a little bit about your menu...
We wanted to have southern food that everyone would enjoy. We had Barbecue, baked beans, slaw, chips and salsa, cornbread, bottled 7-up, Coca-cola, Orange crush and fresh lemonade. For our favors we had a cookie bar with 8 different kinds of cookies.

Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment of the day was the fireworks at the end of the wedding. It was everything I had hoped it would be and the fireworks just made everything come together in the end.

Looking back on your engagement and wedding, is there any advice you would give to brides in the planning process?
Enjoy the day and just take it all in because it goes by so quick!

Inspiration Board: Yellow + Gray

Hey everyone! My name is Brit and I'm a blogger and wedding stylist.  I was thrilled when Erin invited me to guest post while she's off on vacation. I have been itching to share this latest color board with readers. Yellow and gray are two colors I never tire of. There is just something modern, yet classic and antique about them together that I really love. With this palette I added a splash of olive green, for added freshness, and a touch of white gives it a great backdrop. This is one of those versatile palettes that can carry from Spring to Summer to early Fall.
