Charleston Engagement {Steve + Jess}

When Sara Bee Photography sent over Jess + Steve’s engagement session, it was an immediate, ‘Yup, these are going up!’  Not only is the photography beautiful and the Charleston backdrop perfect, but these two are freaking adorable.  Rain or shine, they just have the best time together.  After hanging out Downtown for a bit, they packed up the show and headed down to Folly Beach with a few meaningful props.  Steve was known for chomping on bubblegum as a baby and Jess was notorious for drinking Coke out of her baby bottle.  These two are tying the knot this weekend, so leave ‘em some love!

Boone Hall Plantation {Tiffany + Jim}

Y’all, after much anticipation, it’s finally Friday!  I’m not sure what’s been with this crazy, busy month of May, but I can promise you I will definitely be welcoming the weekend come 5 o’clock.  There is a glass, or 4, of wine in my future! As you may have heard, we’ve just brought on a crew of talented new interns who are ready bring the lovely to our Lowcountry brides this summer.  To say I’m excited to have these girls on staff is quite the understatement.  With their help, we’ll be hand-selecting some of the finest weddings from the Carolina coast to show off to our favorite Lowcountry ladies!  More details to come next week, but if you’re interested in submitting, send ‘em on over to hello{at}alowcountrywed.com.

When you’re in the market for a Southern wedding venue, it’s hard to deny what Boone Hall Plantation has to offer.  Right outside of Charleston, South Carolina in beautiful Mount Pleasant, you’ll find a sprawling plantation dripping in Old World beauty.  There’s cotton fields and magnificent Oak trees, picturesque views of the marsh and lush gardens,all of which are immersed in the rich history of the Lowcountry.  Perfect, right?  Well, it’s no secret that brides and grooms flock to the romantic setting for, not only their wedding day, but also to snap a few pre-wedding day engagement shots.  Our talented friend Priscilla Thomas Photography recently met up with the adorable Tiffany + Jim as they took in the sights and enjoyed the afternoon at the historic plantation.  Happy Friday!

Southern Engagement {Krystle + Lance)

I've just been eating up this heavenly Spring weather we've been blessed this weekend!  So, in honor of Southern Wedding Sunday, and this 75 degree weather, we've got Krystle + Lance's adorable engagement session from Chic Shot Studio that will have you b-lining to spend some time outside.  I'm just giddy over the colorful balloons and how these two lovebirds seem to be floating away!

Boone Hall Engagement {Lynsey + Ryan}

Lynsey + Ryan currently reside in Hawaii but are heading back to the Holy City this Fall to say 'I do'.  On a recent trip back to the East Coast, the adorable duo met up with the talented crew from Hyer Images to engage in a session for the record books!  Unbeknownst to them, they headed over to Boone Hall Plantation on the eve of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold's Lowcountry wedding, and to say security was tight was an understatement!  But lucky for us, they were able to squeeze in a few dreamy images just for our pinning pleasure :)  Can't wait for their big ol' Charleston wedding!

Southern Wedding Engagement {Ashley + Will}

You know we love everything Southern when it comes to our weddings and this adorable Georgia engagement session from Anna K Photography is just the thing to satisfy our Southern Wedding Sunday craving!  Groom-to-be, Will, is from a very small town right outside of Vidalia, Georgia called Ailey, where his family owns 500+ acres of picturesque, country land that was perfect for their rustic engagement session. Will and Ashley are so sweet together and watching them interact will make anyone's heart happy. The diamond in Ashley's ring is a family heirloom from Will's grandmother, the perfect touch to something that is already so special!

Joe Riley Stadium Engagement {Billie & Nick}

Oh, ladies!  We're kicking this week off in style with a sweet Charleston engagement session from Taylor Rae Photography.  For any of you who call Charleston home, then spending an afternoon/evening at a Riverdogs game is something we all enjoy (Thirsty Thursday, anyone?), so it probably wasn't a big surprise that I was super excited to see that Billie + Nick chose Joe Riley Stadium as the backdrop for the engagement session.  It's just perfect!

The story of how they met via Taylor Rae Photography: "Nick worked at a bar that Billie used to go to frequently, as she worked next door. The first time she came in, she ordered this Sam Adam’s Cherry Wheat, not knowing what else to get. Now, Nick thought Billie was super cute (duh, who wouldn’t?) and thought, “hmm, I should remember this drink for when she comes in again! Brilliant!” So he did. And for the next 3 months, every time he saw Billie walk through the door, he grabbed a Cherry Wheat and had it opened when she sat down. It took poor Billie 3 whole months to admit to Nick that she really didn’t like the beer! He tried it, and said, “Yeah, you’re right…that’s probably the worst beer I’ve ever tasted…” But at that point it didn’t matter because he stole Billie’s heart :)"

Southern Wedding Engagement {Madalyn + Matt}

Virgil Bunao is gracing us with his presence this morning and, per usual, we're loving his authentic approach to this romantic Charleston wedding engagement.  Bride-to-be Lauren radiated in a gorgeous lace gown she accented with a few bangles an a fabulous pair of heels, while Matthew rocked a classic button-down.  The duo gallivanted around the Holy City, enjoying it's Lowcountry charm, before wrapping things up by the water!

I'm a sucker for anything Diana Deaver Photography shoots.  She's got a great eye for capturing gorgeous lighting and has a knack for keeping her couples relaxed and looking oh-so natural in front of her lens.  So pair those qualities with Lowcountry backdrops and you've got photographic perfection...Charleston-style :)  Keesha + Rob are just precious.  A couple truly in love.  Don't you love how they look at each other, it melts my heart.

Southern Engagement {Emma + Eric}

It's always kinda weird to write a post when it involves people you know, which is why I've been trying to write this one up for the past few weeks.  You want to make sure the images are arranged just perfectly and all the words sum up just how excited you are for the twosome...so stressful!  Emma's my adorable little sister who also serves as a Grammar Nazi when it comes to A Lowcountry Wedding :)  Her and her fiance Eric are tying the knot in Atlanta this coming October and while they might not be getting hitched in the Lowcountry, their rustic engagement session from Katy Albano Photography is just too awesome not to share!  Partially because they even invited their wonky-eared pup, Henna Mae.  So happy for you two and can't wait for your big ol' Catholic ceremony!

It's Southern Wedding Sunday and we're diving in head first with Sue + Brian's nautical-inspired engagement session from one of our favorite Charleston wedding vendors, the wonderfully talented Dana Cubbage Wedding Photography.   I'm slightly obsessed with this perfect combination of one seriously photogenic couple, a dose of dreamy natural light and the preppy backdrop of the marina.  To top it all off, I'm crazy about Sue's fresh clothing selections.  I'm gonna need that scarf, please :)

Boone Hall Plantation {Amanda + Nick}

I'm not sure about all of you, but we're in route to the Boone Hall Plantation Oyster Roast to get our shuck on!  In honor of one of my favorite weekends of the year, I figured Amanda + Nick's  engagement session from Priscilla Thomas Photography would be the perfect way to celebrate for those of you that won't be able to join us today.  This sweet duo spent the afternoon on the Plantation, at one of Charleston's most-sought after wedding venues, as the danced in the cotton field, played with the horses and enjoyed spending time with their pooch, Indiana.
