So, hurry up and scoop up your tickets! Oh, and we almost forgot, keep your eyes peeled because we'll be announcing ALW Magazine Pre-Sales VERY soon and for any vendors interested in advertising opportunities, it looks like we'll have a few spots left, so shoot us an email! To kick off this first day of December, we're excited to share Leslie & Dan's Wachesaw Plantation wedding designed by Cibi Events. (Side note: We'll be featuring Wachesaw Plantation as one of our favorite waterfront venues in our upcoming print mag!) Thanks to Priscilla Thomas Photography for capturing all the details!
From Priscilla Thomas Photography: "Leslie and Dan held a chic summer soiree by the water at Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet, SC. Their wedding inspiration came from their global adventures together. Dan even proposed while the two were living in Abu Dhabi. This international travel motif was highlighted on each table by a bottle of champagne with a custom label featuring an abroad location they have traveled to. Soft corals and sea foam blue accents adorned tabletops and bridal party attire. Floral arrangements incorporated corals and pinks through roses and paired these with white hydrangea and succulents. Their ceremony was at the historic Belin United Methodist Church. Afterwards, they joined their guests at Kimbels at Wachesaw Plantation, where a formal dinner included shrimp and grits or chicken cordon blue. With live jams from Charleston Groove Factory and sweet libations of sweat tea Firefly vodka and lemonade, the celebration moved to the dance floor. As the night came to a close, they ran through a sparkler sendoff and then drove away in a classic Bentley."

Murrells Inlet Wedding Engagement by Gigi Noelle Events + Carmen Ash Photography
We're spending our Saturday (and probably Sunday, too!) reviewing tons of gorgeous Lowcountry weddings for Volume 1 of our upcoming print edition of A Lowcountry Wedding Magazine, and I'll be honest, its going to be amazing. The real weddings we've already accepted from Charleston, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach + Savannah are nothing short of amazing and I'm anxious to see what other lovelies join the club. We'll be accepting submissions until the end of August, so keep them rolling in! Since we can't share all the goodness with y'all, we thought we'd shower your with a beautiful Murrells Inlet Wedding Engagement Session from Myrtle Beach Wedding Vendors, Gigi Noelle Events + Carmen Ash Photography. The sweet couple, Christina + Charlie, wanted to incorporate Charlie's family's 55-foot boat, the Blue Mile, into their afternoon. Each year, Charlie's family takes the eye catching boat down to the Bahamas for their annual trip over the course of 3-4 months. So, it was no surprise that including it in their pictures was a no-brainer. Charlie + his crew immediately began polishing and cleaning the boat prior to the shoot, and we'd have to say he did a wonderful job! We love this adorable couple, their perfect outfit choices and all of the coastal details incorporated throughout the session!

Grande Dunes Ocean Club Wedding by Memorable Moments + Leslie Parrott
This lovely Sunday weather has me daydreaming of long Summer days and ocean views! Since I can't quite have the long Summer days, I'll settle for gorgeous ocean views, and that's just what Meredith + Rod's Ocean Club at Grande Dunes wedding delivers! The wonderful crew at Memorable Moments teamed up with a talented group of Myrtle Beach Wedding Vendors for the perfect Lowcountry affair. Apparently, the weather acted up a bit, but you would never be able to tell from these beautiful images Leslie Parrott Photography captured. We're obsessing over the perfect coastal color palette of pale pink and navy with touches of burlap!
From Leslie: "Meredith and Rod are a fun couple that are excited to show off their wedding. The details were elegant yet the vibe was laid back allowing for guests to really enjoy themselves. They added personal touches such as in lieu of guest gifts a donation was made to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund (Meredith and her family are from New Jersey). And Rod is from Atlanta so he wanted the southern, relaxed touch of farm tables at the reception. The day unexpectedly ended up being cold and windy so there was a last minute decision to tent the reception. The couple was not able to walk the beach for photos as they had originally planned either. But the day turned out perfect regardless and the photos still have the Myrtle Beach touch to them."

Myrtle Beach Weddings {Leigh Anne + Douglas} Litchfield Plantation
We are beyond thrilled that the premier issue of A Lowcountry Wedding Mag is going live on Apple Newsstands this week and because we like to celebrate, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of one of the beautiful Myrtle Beach weddings that graced our pages. Leigh Anne + Douglas tied the knot at the lovely Litchfield Plantation in Pawleys Island, SC and we adore every last detail of their dreamy Lowcountry wedding day. Corina Silva was the mastermind behind the entire evening, starting with the decor + florals and finishing it off by capturing all the details! Dying to see more?! Check out all the details in our complete digital edition of A Lowcountry Wedding Mag which you can check out here!
Unlike those of us who grow up daydreaming about our wedding day, the bug never quite bit Bride Leigh Anne; that is, until she visited the magical Litchfield Plantation. After a few minutes of reveling in the beauty, she quickly turned to her father and said, “Daddy, I want to get married in the Spanish moss.” And we’re so thankful she did, because this Southern, plantation-style home in Pawleys Island has a knack for sweeping brides-to-be off their feet.
On the day of their wedding, rain threatened to put a damper on their outdoor festivities, but as luck would have it, the clouds opened up just in time for Leigh Anne + Douglas to say ‘I do’ under the Oak trees. Afterward, they joined their guests for a Lowcountry evening complete with chic chandeliers, mason jars and rustic lanterns.

Myrtle Beach Wedding {Jennifer + Carl} Grande Dunes Ocean Club
I wanted to get back to sharing all of these beautiful weddings that graced the pages of our first online mag and this Grande Dunes Ocean Club bash is one heck of a stunner! Jennifer + Carl hail from the great state of Michigan and decided the Lowcountry was the best place to host their destination wedding...and we're sure glad we did. M. Gladden Designs took Jennifer's black and white color palette with pops of yellow and orange and translated it into some jaw dropping arrangements. Thanks to Carolina Studios by Gillian Reinhardt for showering us with this beautiful Myrtle Beach wedding! Even though we wanted to (and we sure did try!), we couldn’t include everything in the magazine, so to find out a little more about Jennifer’s big day, check out her answers below and to see all the details you can purchase a digital edition of the Mag here!
What made you choose your venue? What elements drew you to it? My family has been traveling to Myrtle Beach for the past 15+yrs for annual family vacations. A few years back, my parents purchased a second home in the area and decided to make Myrtle Beach their “winter home”; we are from MI. Over the years, Myrtle Beach became our family’s second home. My brother now lives there full-time; my parents live there about 6-7 months out of the year and Carl (my husband) and I both travel frequently throughout the year to visit.
We elected to host our destination wedding in Myrtle Beach, at the Ocean Club, over Memorial Weekend, for our friends and family (all from MI) because Myrtle Beach is considered a “home” to us and we wanted our friends and family to know and understand why we spend as much time as do in the area. We chose the Ocean Club because my family and I are members and it was also a perfect place for us to start our lives together – a venue that we (Carl and I) frequently visit.
Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment? LOL – my hair appointment, of all things! Horrible experience, but best attitude anyone could ask for! Keep in mind, this was a destination wedding – but the salon that I had booked my MOH and my hair appointments at months in advanced lost our appointments and refused to take us; another salon was willing to take us (probably feeling horrified for us!) last minute after my cousin explained the situation. Despite the moment .. it’s something that I will never forget. My cousin (MOH) couldn’t believe how calm and reserved I was about it. I had a “it’s ok to whatever happens today” attitude! And nothing was going to ruin it.
How many guests attended - 37 total (all from MI)
Color Palette – black, white, yellow, orange, cream colors
Tell us all about the details! Did any have special meaning? What was your favorite?
Tell us a little bit about your menu… We chose a cocktail and hors d'oeuvre wedding reception offered by the Ocean Club. It was the perfect choice for our small and intimate setting. We had approx.. 37 guests total (including ourselves) and wanted to mix & mingle with our guests who took the time to fly down and spend their holiday weekend with us. We absolutely did not want to separate anyone or exclude guests.
What’s your favorite picture from your wedding? My absolute favorite picture was the very last photo that Carolina Studios’ captured of Carl and me as they were headed out for the evening. It was an amazing shot that captured a very special moment for us.
