Michelle + Sam {Auburn Engagement Session}

I really love college football season.  I love the atmosphere, tailgating, cornhole, finding the perfect gameday dress, bloody marys, waking up to ESPN's Gameday and....Kirk Herbstreit :)  This past week the entire state of South Carolina's been a-buzz with both Carolina and Clemson ranking in the top 25 AND sporting 4-0 records.  Well tomorrow, the Gamecocks are hoping for a win as they take on the defending National Champions Auburn Tigers in front of the home crowd. In honor of the big game, we're featuring a classic Auburn engagement session from Scobey Photography that is sure to give you a healthy dose of SEC football...well, until tomorrow that is!  The couple, Michelle + Sam, spent the day on their Alma Mater's campus making sure they hit all the hotspots.  With the Auburn band as their backdrop and dressed from head-to-toe in their school colors, the wrapped up the day preparing to cheer on the Tigers with the rest of the spirited crowd!

Tori + Adam {Watersound Beach Club Wedding}

Good morning!  Who's excited it's Thursday?!  Today we're sharing Tori + Adam's Destination Nuptials.  While the couple resides in Charlotte, Tori is a Florida girl and immediately knew she needed to head back to the coast for her big day.  Being an event planner, Tori got right to planning all the details.  The couple decided the Watersound Beach Club would be the perfect setting to host their guests and who better to capture all the memories than Pure7Studios and Diva Productions
Tell us a little bit about how you met your husband...
Adam and I met through mutual friends. I was new to Charlotte and wasn't interested in dating anyone and you know what they say when you aren't looking someone will come sweep you off your feet and Adam did just that. The first night Adam and I met we stayed up talking till 5 in the morning about anything and everything.

How did he propose?  How long were you engaged for?
We were walking through the park in uptown Charlotte, we stopped on top of the bridge to look over the pond, I turned around and Adam was down on one knee. It was the perfect setting with the city lights in the background.
We had a very short engagement, 3 months to be exact. I had a notebook full of wedding ideas that I would see at weddings or would think of and just know that I would want that in my wedding. So it was really easy to plan our wedding.

Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment of the day would have to be walking down the beach with my dad to my future husband and seeing all the our friends and family there supporting us.

What’s your favorite picture from your wedding?
Our favorite picture is a toss up between two, but ultimately I have chosen the picture that best describes Adam and I and our wedding party. Adam and I like to have a fun personality and are always laughing and having a good time, this was the only picture I requested Ryan to take. After a bunch of attempts we got everyone in the air.
*just a sidenote...the two guys on the end are seriously cracking me up

What made you choose Watersound Beach Club? What elements drew you to it?
I chose Watersound Beach Club in Florida, it is not only beautiful location but on my summer breaks from college I would work there as the event director. Other elements that drew us to this location was that our guests could stay close to the venue in houses we rented for them.

Your wedding was filled with gorgeous details.  Did any have special meaning? What was your favorite?
Once we picked the date I knew vendors to go to. Ryan, with Pure 7 Studios took my senior pictures when he first started taking pictures so I didn't even consider anyone else. I have been working with Briane and Hillary with Monark Events for the past 3 years; we worked together on the design aspect of the venue. Instead of relaxing the morning of the wedding I was putting together centerpieces and bouquets adding my touch to everything. Brian, with BBoy Productions did the music and effects for our church so I knew he would have our guests dancing the night away, which they did. I have been obsessed with Tiffany &Co. every since I knew what it was, so having "tiffany blue" dresses with pops of coral was a no brainer.
Although everyone made the night magical, my favorite was helping my vision come alive. I loved getting my hands dirty and sweating the morning of the wedding. It was my time to mentally relax before the big night.

Tell us a little bit about your menu...
We decided on a buffet dinner with passed appetizers during cocktails hour. We had a little bit of everything all prepared on site by Chef Brian. We had chicken, fish, crab cakes, fried oysters, grilled veggies, a hummus bar. Our guests didn't have a negative thing to say about the food and kept going back from more.

Looking back on your engagement and wedding, is there any advice you would give to brides in the planning process?
My advice would be even though it is your wedding for the two of you, your future husband just wants you to make you happy and will have little or no say in what flowers or grand exit you will take. In the end the wedding is about the two of you and to not sweat the small stuff.

Southern Weddings {Wreaths}

Today I've done a little round up on an assortment of different wedding wreaths.  To me, wreaths are like the grown up version of balloons on your mailbox...it screams 'The party's this way!' but in a more elegant tone.  Wreaths are the perfect welcome accessory.  They let your guests know what type of event is around the corner.  While a wreath full of gorgeous blooms never goes out of style, don't be scared to think a little outside of the box.  Maybe some cotton, succulents, baby's breath...or even macaroons!

Martina + Volker: Rheingau, Germany Wedding

I've got a little European treat for you today from Gasoline Photography :)  Martina + Volker were married this past summer in the breathtaking region of Rheingau, Germany.  Rheingau is known for its beautiful vineyards, gorgeous scenery and amazing wines..all of which the couple made sure to incorporate into their big day.  The reception took place at the stunning Burg Schwarzenstein Restaurant & Hotel (seriously, you have to take a look at this place).  This chic location provided a joyful atmosphere where the guests danced and dined into the evening hours.  They ended the night with a celebratory fireworks display over the vineyards.

Lily + Jonathan: Louisiana Wedding

Hope you caught this mornings Caribbean Comfort Shoot from Bliss by Sam.  It made me want to grab a Red Stripe and put my toes in the sand!  Next up, we're sharing a Louisiana beauty from local Charleston photographer, Taylor Rae.  Bride Lily has shared a little extra detail about her Deep South nuptials.

Tell us a little bit about how you met your husband...Jonathan and I met at Wheaton College in our first class our Freshman year. We became friends our first semester and started dating a the beginning of the Spring semester. We’ve known each other for five years and have been married for one of those.

How did he propose?  How long were you engaged for?
The summer after our junior year of college I did a study abroad program in England so we were apart for the whole summer. When I got back I was at my parents’ home in Louisiana for two weeks before going back up to Illinois for school. Jonathan was with his family in Ohio. One afternoon he called me and said he was just missing me so much that day and that he just couldn’t wait to see me and to start this next year together. I said I really missed him too and couldn’t wait to see him either. Then he said, “Really? Well why don’t you come outside.” He had flown down from Ohio that morning and was in my backyard with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a gorgeous ring he had picked out all by himself. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.  We were engaged for 10 months and were married in June 2010 just after we both graduated from college.

How did you choose your venue? What elements drew you to it?
I knew that I wanted to have an outdoor wedding, but being in Louisiana in June, preferred to have a reception somewhere air-conditioned. I also knew that I wanted it to have a vintage feel. This venue was perfect because it has a great courtyard for the outdoor ceremony and the restaurant is in a beautiful old house with lots of old wood and brick and the back wall is made entirely of this huge collage of windows in all shapes and sizes. It fit the feel of the wedding and came with everything I needed so I didn’t have to worry about coordinating a lot of separate vendors.

Your wedding was filled with gorgeous details.  Did any have special meaning? What was your favorite?
Although we aren’t Jewish, I really wanted to be married under a chuppah because it symbolizes the new home that the couple will build together. This one was particularly special to me because my brother and sister-in-law built it for me.  My favorite element was the foot-washing we did as part of the ceremony. In the New Testament Jesus washes the feet of his disciples as a symbol of his willingness to serve them. We chose to do this in our ceremony as a way of showing that through our marriage we were committing to serve one another.
Almost every detail was made by hand by me and by other friends and family members and because of that I truly felt that my friends and family were a part of our wedding day and of our marriage.

Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment?
Without question, the look on my husband’s face when he saw me in my dress for the first time, walking down the aisle to become his wife. I have never felt so beautiful and treasured and so confident that I was making the right decision.

Tell us a little bit about your menu.
Because our venue was actually an incredible restaurant we were able to do a sit-down dinner with a choice of soup or salad and chicken, steak, or fish entrée options. There were a lot of Cajun influences in the food since we were deep in South Louisiana. Everyone thought it was delicious.

Looking back on your engagement and wedding, is there any advice you would give to brides in the planning process?
Don’t let yourself get stressed out about the details of the wedding. The important thing is your marriage to this man that you adore. It doesn’t have to meet anyone else’s standards, it needs to be meaningful to you. The things you will remember are not how good your cake looked or whether your bridesmaids’ shoes were all exactly the same color, it’s how it felt to walk down that aisle toward the man you love and the fun of celebrating with your friends and your family.

Caribbean Comfort {Wedding Inspiration}

Samantha Dockery is the Owner of Durham, North Carolina's Bliss by Sam.  She recently sent over this perfectly style shoot where she mixed a little bit of Southern Charm with a cool Caribbean theme at The Oaks at Salem in Apex, NC.  What I'm really loving about this shoot is that they haven't left one stone un-turned.  From the flowers and venue to the food and cake (can we please talk about how amazing that cake is!?), this is a completely cohesive event.  With my background being in catering, I'm a sucker for all things food. I feel like while catering is obviously an integral part of a wedding, it's often left out when telling the story.  But not here :)  Rocky Top Hospitality created a ridiculous Caribbean-inspired menu (are there any leftovers?) for the event that perfectly complimented the beautiful florals from Creative Touch Designs and the table layout from Bliss by Sam. The ah-mazing cake I've been drooling over was made by Sugarland, the rentals from Party Reflections and the talented Robin Lin was on hand to capture it all...Enjoy!

Arizona Wedding {Carmen + Tom}

It's Friday!  I don't know about you guys, but I woke up this morning and it was 58 degrees outside...where did that come from?  While I'm excited about the crisp Fall weather, I'm not quite ready to let go of Summer just yet.  So with that being said, today I'm going to squeeze in a sweet Arizona Wedding to cure my Summer blues.  Carmen + Tom tied the knot May 28th in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Carmen looked timeless in a classic J. Crew dress as she walked down the aisle in this low-key backyard ceremony.   With a purple and brown color palette, the couple we're able to achieve a laid back rustic vibe that seems to fit their personalities to a tee!  They couple even shot some hoops during their reception and if I had to guess, I'd say Carmen won (she's got wayyy better form)  Thanks to Arizona photo, Michelle Koechle for capturing these beautiful images...

Maureen + Brian {Southern Wedding}

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of the ladies of Stay Forever Photography based out of Palm Beach, Florida.  They consistently produce classically vivid images.   They're experts in getting all the detail shots and what I REALLY love about them is their ability to capture all the special moments.  The ladies recently shot Maureen + Brian's  Palm City, Florida and, once again, it did not disappoint.  The couple was engaged for a little over a year before tying the knot in a beautiful church ceremony that was followed the perfect coastal reception.
I asked Maureen to join us today to tell us their love story...
Tell us a little bit about how you met your husband.  How long have you known each other?  Where did you meet?
Brian and I met under a very serendipitous occasion.  Neither of us had lived in Florida very long, and had only moved here to relax and get away for a bit.  There was a new restaurant starting up in town, and we had both secured kitchen positions.  Hundreds of people applied to work at this new restaurant, and we both made it.  As soon as I met him, I knew there was something special about it.  I went home and told my mom about him, and he went and told his sister about me!  We met a few days before Valentine’s Day, and starting dating April fool’s day.  He proposed to me a year later!

How did he propose?  How long were you engaged?
Our first official date was a walk on the beach after a rain storm had just passed.  The waves were huge that day, and jellyfish were strewn all over the beach.  We sat on the sand and just talked.  Nearly a year later, we took a walk on the beach- on our anniversary.  He said that he liked making memories with me- and I agreed.  And then he asked me if I wanted to make memories for the rest of our lives together, and he pulled out a beautiful ring.  And I simply said yes.  It was very intimate and special.  We were engaged for 14 months.

Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment?
There are almost too many wonderful moments when I see the slideshow in my head of that day!!   I can remember my excited anxiousness as we arrived at the church.  I remember walking down the aisle with my dad, and feeling like a superhero, knowing that I was marrying the best person in the world.  I loved our Church ceremony- it was so beautiful, so soft, and just lovely.  If I have to pick one moment as my most memorable, I remember having our first dance, and looking into each other’s eyes and singing the lyrics softly just enough so that we were the only ones that could hear it.  Just wonderful!

This is my favorite shot.  Maureen, first off, you are absolutely adorable and I love your expression in this image.  Secondly, I love how Brian is looking at her.  You can just see the love :)

What’s your favorite picture from your wedding?
I love this picture because it shows how wonderfully sweet Brian is.  He is so tender and loving in everything he does and it shows in my eyes how much I trust him.

How did you choose your venue?  What elements drew you to it?
We had first chosen and put a deposit down on a venue that is gorgeous.  But, the more I thought about it, and the logistics of everything, I became highly stressed out.  We started looking for other venues.  My parents live in a neighborhood with a golf course and yacht house.  It just made sense to go there instead.  It is located on a river, with gorgeous boats floating at the dock, the foliage around the building just boasts of south Florida charm, and the nautical touches inside made it masculine but not overpowering.   It was perfect.

Your wedding was filled with gorgeous details.  Did any have special meaning?  What was your favorite?
Everything about the day had real sentiment to it.  All of my grandparents have passed away, so we tried to honor and remember them with certain things.  The earrings that I wore were from a ring that my grandmother had, and my mom had the diamonds constructed on a silver chain. Brian carried my grandfather’s blue handkerchief that was wrapped up with a necklace that his grandmother had.  Our wedding flutes were given to me by my sister that had come from Ireland- where my grandmother was from.  I wore a ring, borrowed that day from my Aunt, as a replica of my Nanna’s onyx and diamond ring.  Everything that was incorporated into our wedding had meaning for us.  The list could go on.  It is nearly impossible to pick a favorite because everything was so so special.

Tell us a little about your menu.
We were intent on having a wedding where people loved the food and would be talking about it for years.  We enlisted Chef John Carlino and his team to create a masterpiece of a day for us!  Our cocktail hour- which was two hours- was filled with Southern style food; mini BBQ pork sliders, Caribbean jerked shrimp, Red Strip soaked chicken skewers, Florida fresh ceviche, and, my favorite- a fruit bar.  Freshly cut fruit topped with coconut or soaked in alcohol atop an ice bed with palm frawns frozen into it.  Dinner ran the gamut from lamb chops to filet mignon, from Caribbean quinoa with fruit to freshly made pasta purses with goat cheese and pears.  To conclude the dining portion of the night, my wonderful friend, Alexandra Mudry created our cake in Washington, DC and transported it on the plane with her.  She constructed it while in Florida!!  It was AMAZING!!

Looking back on your engagement and wedding, is there any advice you would give to brides in the planning process?
No matter what, things will always arise that you do not expect to happen.  That happened for us, on more than one occasion throughout our year plus of organizing.  You just have to go with the flow, don’t freak out, and realize that it might be better for you/ the day anyway in the long run.  Come up with 2nd and 3rd plans.  That way you are never shocked, and can move on easily from it without stressing.  AND have fun at the wedding- it only lasts for one day- so soak it all up!!!

Megan + Cullen: Texas Engagement

Sorry for today's delayed post, I've got a bit of a headache that made sure I slept in a little later than usual this morning...but no worries, I've got a ridiculous engagement session to share with you that will make up for my tardiness!  Texas photographer Kelsey Elizabeth sent over this beautiful engagement session that is filled with tons of natural light and a precious couple that I'm positive will make you swoon!  Kelsey selected an organic, woodsy landscape to really highlight Megan + Cullen's sweet laidback personality.   Megan has a sweet spot for books so they also made a trip to Denton Recycled Books Opera House.  But, the sweetest part was when Kelsey separated Megan + Cullen and asked them each to jot down what they loved most about the other.  Megan showed her card that said, “His Passion” and Cullen showed his that said, “She’s Mine.” So sweet!Best of luck to Megan + Cullen who will wed next June at the Four Seasons in Dallas, Texas!

Sage Hills of Central Washington

Good Morning!  I've been admiring this romantic Central Washington shoot from Nicole Conner Photography since it showed up in my inbox earlier this week.  The styling on this shoot is just dead on.  Elise, the model, is truly a classic beauty.  Her hair is soft, her dress is perfect, the setting is out of a dream and those flowers...those flowers make me swoon.  I'll let Nicole finish the rest...
"Adorned in a beautiful prom dress circa 1950, Elise shines as she floats gloriously through the sage hills of central Washington. A hand crafted birdcage veil and custom florals make this a sure win for the discerning bride! A soft neutral pallet of sage green create an ambient scene sure to please the eye. Loose curls and soft petal pink eyes glow nicely bringing out that late summer sun. Evening wedding's are a must during the late summer months, as the sun sets behind the hills and create that beautiful soft light. "

Peach + Aqua Wedding Inspiration

I'm starting to get really sad that summer is over :(  But I do have to admit I am LOVING  this weather. I was in Atlanta last weekend for the UGA game and it was a steamy 95 degrees on Saturday.  Twenty-four hours later and it's a refreshing 75.  So, I can't really complain about that.  Thanks to my good friend Pinterest, I'm able to hang on to all these gorgeous images until I find the perfect time to use them.  I've really been diggin' the color peach over the past few months and recently I've taken a liking to pairing it with a beautiful coastal blue.  It's a very classic, relaxing...and almost even a neutral palette.  It is a perfect combo for A Lowcountry Wedding...

Lauren + Tom: Chapel Hill Engagement Session

The South is home to some of the most beautiful college campuses in the country.  With pristine lawns, historic buildings and a killer bar scene, I mean...first class academics, you can't beat the education and experience you get down South and UNC is at the top of that list.  Today's darling couple, Lauren + Tom, met at the prestigious University of North Carolina in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina.   To celebrate their engagement, the Tarheel fans paraded around their old stompin' grounds with the ever-so-talented Joseph of Connections Photography.  As students, the duo regularly showed their school spirit by painting themselves in Tarheel Blue before basketball and football games.  So, they decided to paint themselves on more time and made for some super sweet photos.  Is Lauren not gorgeous?!

Southern Weddings {Kylene + Adam}

Hopefully, you caught Kylene + Adam's fun Isle of Wight County Fair engagement session yesterday  (It was a good one!).  I'm glad to say the sweet duo is back today with some seriously beautiful scenic shots from their wedding.  The couple partied the night away at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Virginia and spent the following day gallivanting around the resort with Grant & Deb Photographers in this jaw-dropping day after session.  Bay Creek played host as the coastal backdrop to an afternoon of fun as Kylene + Adam enjoyed the stunning water views and perfect scenery.  I have a feeling the newlyweds have already filled their house with all these images...if not, they better be working on it!

Kylene + Adam's Carnival Engagement Session

Hope everyone was able to soak up the last few days of summer this weekend!  Now that cooler weather is right around the corner, I can't help but get a teensy-bit excited that it's almost Fair season :)  I LOVE when the fair comes to town, and let's be honest...who doesn't.  I'm a big fan of the lights, cotton candy, the games and, of course, anything deep-fried (preferably Snickers or Oreos but I'm not picky).  Last year, my husband and I went to the SC State Fair in Columbia and had a fabulous time at the Boyz II Men concert (don't judge, it was a blast!).  So, to build up some anticipation for when the Fair comes rolling thru your town, we wanted to kick off this week with Kylene + Adam's fun engagement session from the talented Virginia Beach team of  Grant & Deb.

Southern Weddings {Kim + Chris}

I'm so glad I finally get to share this amazing rustic wedding with yall.    When Alex, of AlexM Photography, recently sent over these images, I couldn't get enough of all the character and awesome details the bride + groom incorporated.  The darling couple, Kim + Chris, wed this past June in Hooks, Texas on the grounds of Ramage Farms.  The picturesque North East Texas venue was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception and made for gorgeous images.  Kim donned a vintage layered gown for her big day that she paired perfectly with silver and turquoise jewelry.  As she made her way down the aisle towards Chris, she carried a bright colored bouquet of calla lilies and roses made by the fabulous Twisted Vines.  Enjoy!

If you're looking to incorporate the Old South into your wedding day, look no further than Drayton Hall.  It was once used as a staging ground by both Colonial and British forces, has withstood numerous hurricanes (and even an earthquake!) and still stands in much the same way it did in the 18th century.  Simply put, it's just fantastic.  The plantation home ranks as one of America's finest examples of Pre-Revolutionary War architecture and will provide a truly stunning backdrop for your Lowcountry Wedding.  Oh, and just wait til you see the inside.

Aubrey + Jeff: Cathedral of Junk

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.  I can't believe it's already Monday morning again :(  I swear these summer weekends just keep flying by.  I wanted to kick off this week with one of the coolest engagement sessions I've ever seen.  The gorgeous couple, Aubrey + Jeff, share a love of collecting random things (Jeff may jokingly refers to his bride-to-be as a hoarder) and they plan to incorporate many of the treasures they've acquired into their upcoming wedding.   Jeff compares Aubrey's hobby to their five-year relationship saying, "If you keep something around long enough, you end up never wanting to let it go."  So, it made perfect sense they chose the Cathedral of Junk in Austin, Texas as the backdrop for their eclectic engagement session.  From the natural light and beautiful couple to the mounds of vintage finds and mustaches, photographer Caryn Wood of Love Caryn Photography, did an AH-mazing job capturing these two in their element.  I still can't get over how Aubrey's dress pops in every picture? Love it.

Fripp Island Wedding {Kelly + Tom}

Kelly + Tom's journey started alllll the way back in the first grade.  The future lovebirds first crossed paths in Mrs. Stuart's class but shortly after their 7th grade year, Tom moved away.  It  wasn't until years later on a random evening in Philadelphia that a relationship started to form...and we're so glad it did!  Lucky for us, Kelly + Tom chose Fripp Island as the backdrop to their beautiful Lowcountry Wedding.  The darling couple enlisted the talents of Charleston wedding photographer, Philip Casey, of Studio 1250, and boy did  he deliver!  Throughout the day, Kelly + Tom were just oozing with happiness and love.  Their emotions for each other definitely spilled over to their guests and allowed Philip to catch some truly frame-able images.  The couple wed on the beach in a simple. laid back ceremony in front of all their family and friends.   I'm really loving the one of Kelly and her dad walking down the aisle.  Afterwards, they had a fabulous time enjoying their guests, the dancing and the Lowcountry...and can we talk about them jumping in the pool!

Honey Horn Plantation Wedding {Jennifer + Rob}

So, I've been waiting for quite awhile to share Jennifer + Rob's Honey Horn Plantation Wedding.  From the moment I first saw these images I couldn't stop gushing over this color palette...and can you blame me?  Those bouquets are ridiculous!  The fabulous Jenny Evelyn was on hand to capture the gorgeous bride and her dapper groom tie the knot at this perfect Lowcountry Wedding.  I'm so in love with this wedding that I just had to know more, so I asked Jennifer to fill us in on some additional details about their big day...
So give us a little background on you and Rob...
I first met Rob at a church I visited with a few of my friends. We all went out for lunch after the service and he sat beside me. We had casual conversation at that point, but I had no idea he was even interested in me. I remember he was in a hurry to leave when we finished lunch because he was looking forward to watching a Clemson basketball game! We didn’t keep in touch until we became friends on Facebook. We began chatting and exchanged numbers after some time. He claims he asked me out to dinner while we were chatting on Facebook, but I didn’t think it was very obvious and I turned him down! Thankfully, he pursued me and eventually called me to ask me out for our first date.

Tell us about the proposal...
Rob planned the best proposal ever on December 19, 2009! He sent a package to my apartment filled with a beautiful dress and fancy shoes. The package also contained a letter telling me that I was in for an evening I wouldn’t forget! He explained that I was not to contact him and that someone would be there at 3:45 sharp to pick me up. Well, as I am reading this letter, I panicked because I hadn’t showered and it was already 2:45. Rob’s best friend picked me up promptly at 3:45 and handed me another letter that gave me clues to our first destination.  We stopped at three places and, at each place; a note was waiting for me. Each one was romantically written, rhymed, and reminiscent of our relationship and the experiences we’ve had together. At the final location, Rob was waiting for me on the beach. He read the final letter and it was then and there that he asked me to be his wife. Obviously, I said yes! The surprises didn’t stop there – we picked up my dad from the airport then met the rest of our family and friends for dinner to celebrate!

Why did you choose to have A Lowcountry Wedding?
We chose to have a lowcountry wedding because we live here – it’s where we met, where began our relationship and we share so many memories here.  Hilton Head Island also offers beautiful scenery for a wedding.

Out of the entire day, what was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment was the first time I saw Rob as I walked down the aisle with my dad. I couldn’t stop smiling! I also loved walking back down the aisle with Rob after we had been declared husband and wife!
Rob would say his favorite moment was the same and add that he loved the sound of the bagpipes playing as I walked toward him. The bagpiper was a surprise from me to him!

So, how did Honey Horn Plantation win you over?

We attended a wedding there together about a year before our wedding and it was extremely beautiful and very practical for a wedding. The large oak trees, the Spanish moss, the palm trees, and the dock by the water offered all the scenery you expect in the lowcountry. We also liked the ability to have the ceremony, social hour, and reception all in the same place but at different locations within walking distance on the plantation.

Tell us a little bit about your menu...

Our menu was all Lowcountry – pulled pork and chicken barbecue, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, green beans, salad, fruit and served sweet tea, lemonade, and water in small mason jars.

One of my favorite questions to ask brides is what was their favorite ________.  I especially like to know, out of all their gorgeous photographs, which takes the cake.  Obviously, you can tell Jennifer had plenty of gorgeous options thanks to Jenny Evelyn Photography but below was her ultimate favorite....don't you agree?

Looking back on your engagement and wedding, is there any advice you would give to brides in the planning process?
My advice would be:
  1. If you have a budget, do your absolute best to stick to it. Work backwards starting with how many people you are going to have attend the wedding.
  2. Enjoy the wedding and the wedding planning process – do your best not to get caught up on every little detail, especially as the wedding day gets closer.
  3. Remember this is your day as a couple – you cannot please everybody!
  4. The most important advice is to keep your focus on the marriage and commitment you are about to make instead of just the planning of one day.
