Rustic Hyde Park Polo Club Wedding by Stefanie Kapra Photography
We hope everyone had a lovely weekend! We're so excited to share this beautiful Hyde Park Polo Club Wedding from Stefanie Kapra Photography because we're quite certain you'll be enchanted by this rustic beauty! Erin and Paul had planned an intimate wedding in their backyard - by the river. The house they live in has been in their family for generations and therefore felt like the perfect location for their wedding. Erin even planted all her own wedding flowers the year before the wedding - so she could have fresh flowers from the yard for the bouquet and decor. And then the rain and water came and the river flooded their entire yard and street - so they even had to evacuate the house for a little while. The water stayed for weeks - turning their yard into a swamp - making it impossible for the wedding celebrations to take place there
At first, Erin and Paul were devastated. But they felt that the only thing that really mattered was that they would say yes to each other and celebrate their love with their loved ones. So instead of giving up, they kept looking for an alternative and kept their positive spirit alive - and in the end they were rewarded and found a hidden little gem to celebrate their wedding at: Hyde Park Farm & Polo Club. It is not a classical wedding venue per se - but it offers a lot of rustic charm and the necessary room/amenities - all while offering a back yard feel.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by chickens and horses - which immediately created a cozy atmosphere. Erin and Paul set up their ceremony side by a little pond underneath an old life oak tree. A wooden pavilion was used for the reception and the caterer set up the buffet in the old barn. Here and there, one of the horses would get curious and peek over the fence - completing the rustic and intimate feel. For decor, Erin and Paul used oil lamps from Erin's grandma and other relatives - they fit in very nicely with the entire look/feel. To round it all up, fans made from sweet grass as well as local honey was given to the guests as favors to take home.
