When a seasoned member of the Hilton Head wedding industry ties the knot, you can always assume a fabulous event will be the end result, and that is certainly the case for Morris & Hannah's fabulous Oldfield Plantation wedding. Hoping to find a venue that represented them as a couple, they selected a mid-October date at the Okatie locale. "We felt it was a great match for us because it blends traditional Southern elegance with beautiful waterfront views," said Hannah on their decision to use Oldfield Plantation. They enlisted Beth Baldwin Weddings to design an evening with bohemian touches and woodland-themed details. Hannah set the tone in a stunning flowing gown from Ivory & Beau that she paired with soft curls. She asked her bridesmaids to wear a dress of their choosing in a shade of grey, charcoal, powder or slate blue. "We all worked together to be sure the textures and shades worked together as a group to create a coordinated effect," she said...and it turned out beautifully! The end result was an elegant, formal affair with a coastal color palette and fun details (including a donut tower!). Find the whole scoop from Hannah herself below. Thanks to Chloe Giancola Photography for documenting their beautiful day.
From Hannah: "During the week leading up to the wedding, we were forced to evacuate our home for 5 days due to Hurricane Matthew. The areas in which we live and work were hit tremendously hard, but we were truly blessed that our home and wedding venue were not damaged. Once Oldfield finally had power back a few days before the wedding, we could finally breathe a sigh of relief! Most of my family and friends do not live in the South so it was important to us to create a fun atmosphere where everyone could get to know each other and enjoy the evening together as one big happy family - Yankees and Southerners alike. We incorporated a bridal dance polka so that my new Southern family could get to experience this fun wedding tradition from my upbringing in Western Pennsylvania and my Eastern European heritage. Guests pay a few dollars to take a shot and dance with the bride and then form a dancing circle around her. Once the circle is complete, the groom has to try to break through everyone to get to his bride!"
