We're starting Monday off with the hopes that the temperatures will rise this week (or at least that's what they tell us!) and a stunning Boone Hall Plantation wedding from Philip Casey Photography. This sweet couple picked an early September day and with the help of Southern Chic Weddings & Events designed their perfect Lowcountry celebration.
From Briana: "Zach and I met at a bar (romantic, right?) We were both single and having a boys and girls night, respectively. A few weeks later, we went on our first date to a concert and were inseparable ever since. He first told me he loved me while we were walking into a country concert about 1 month later. I guess you could say concerts are our thing!"
"If you have ever been to Boone Hall or seen photos, you can see why we decided on the venue! It is the most spectacular place! My sister and brother-in-law were married in Charleston years ago. After attending their beautiful wedding weekend, I knew that I wanted to get married in Charleston some day. My sister recommended a few plantations, so my mother and I set off to Charleston one December weekend to explore. It was raining the day we visited Boone Hall, but it was still absolutely beautiful. I could picture Zach and my big day from the moment I saw the venue. Fortunately, the weather was perfect on our big day."
"Since the venue has a rustic vibe, I wanted to play that up a little but not overdo it. I have very clean, simple, classic taste, so I chose warm neutrals like taupe, blush, rose and ivory. We had a beautiful eclectic mix of flowers, with subtle accents including hits of rose gold and copper. I wanted the vibe to feel like a really fun, relaxed dinner party, so we chose long tables for dining, and had (delicious!) food stations for guests to pick and choose from. While I wanted the day to feel special, I did not want it to feel overly formal."
"Seeing Zach's face as I walked down the aisle with my father will forever be engrained in my mind and in my heart as a favorite moment. We had a first look prior, but that moment was still so incredible. He later told me he was biting his lip hard to keep from getting choked up. Another favorite was at the very end of the reception, when the DJ played the final song. Our friend had recommended 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel, and as soon as the song came on, all of our guests made a giant circle with Zach and me in the middle. They swayed and sang as we danced our final dance of the evening. I was fighting back tears because we literally could feel the love the room."
