Betsy has her boss to thank for setting her up with Matt. Her boss had been scheming to introduce the two for quite sometime and finally she was able to arrange a first date. To Betsy's surprise, the two talked for hours over drinks. They connected over a love of sports, football to be exact - Matt's a huge Mississippi State fan and Betsy's a Baltimore Ravens season ticket holder - and how the plan their Fall around their favorite team's schedules. When it came time to plan their wedding, the football-lovers decided on a destination in Charleston because the Holy City was equidistant from both of their families. “When we were looking at venues, we wanted to find a place that exuded Charleston. While all of the venues were gorgeous, none of them screamed the Charleston feel quite as much as the William Aiken House did to us,” remembers Betsy. The historic home was the perfect spot for their late Summer wedding and the team at Party.Love.Birds executed their classic vision. Betsy wore a lace Allure gown and carried a stunning bouquet in shades of white and blush. Her bridesmaids complemented her bridal bouquet by wearing soft pink J. Crew dresses. They couple married in the courtyard where rustic vases were hung throughout. After saying 'I do', they joined their guests to celebrate the big day on the dance floor. At the end of the evening, Matt tied in a popular Mississippi State tradition by having family and friends ring white cowbells as the couple sped away in a rickshaw! Thanks to Riverland Studios for snapping Betsy & Matthew's wedding at The William Aiken House.
