Tory McPhail is the executive chef at the Commander's Palace in New Orleans, Louisiana and a recipient of the James Beard Award for Best Chef: South. Tory was tasked to serve as the US Ambassador for the American Chef Corps in Australia and asked his girlfriend Britt Nelson to join him. The couple spent two weeks touring Australia before Tory finally popped the question on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef at Whitehaven Beach. Check out their full proposal here. Britt, who grew up vacationing on Tybee Island, knew the coastal Savannah beach town was perfect for their Summer wedding. The ceremony took place at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel where Britt stunned in a strapless lace gown. Yoj Events created a romantic reception with Southern details including estate style seating, soft blush table runners and peony and hydrangea centerpieces from A to Zinnias. There food game was obviously on point thanks to their New Orleans friends who served up lobster, pulled pork and caviar. Thanks to Priscilla Thomas Photography for capturing their Lowcountry wedding!
