When Erica sent over her lovely Charleston wedding at Creek Club at I'On, we knew we had to share the romantic color palette, her stunning hair and makeup and the beautiful florals that graced the tabletops. The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony at St. Benedict's Catholic Church before making their way to Mount Pleasant's Creek Club at I'On where MOD Events planned and executed the perfect waterfront reception with sparkly gold runners, hydrangea centerpieces and delicious Lowcountry cuisine. About the couple: Erica and Jay met after she and her family moved to North Carolina after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Originally from New Jersey, the family relocated to Lake Norman three months later where Erica enrolled in the local high school and met her future husband. Fast forward 13 years to a beautiful May evening at Le Sirenuse Hotel in Positano where Jay got down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life. Unbeknownst to her, he had planned a secret getaway to the quaint, cliffside town in hopes of recreating her favorite movie, “Only You”.
About the wedding: "Jay and Erica planned to say their “I do’s” in their favorite city, Charleston, on September 11, 2015. While they understood the date historically is one of pain and tragedy, it is the day that ultimately brought them together. The couple’s goal was to honor the families and loved ones and, hopefully, bring love, light, and new beginnings to the day."

Jay, an avid duck hunter, and Erica, a lover of all things glitter and gold, came together to create their dream wedding which incorporated both sides of their personalities and hobbies. From the sparkling gold linens and glittered mason jar centerpieces, to the vintage shot gun shell and duck feather boutonnieres, their big day was a perfect combination of glamour, elegance, and low country charm.
