So you know here at A Lowcountry Wedding we’re all about anything coastal and today I’m diggin’ Brianne + Garner’s classic Florida Engagement Session from Meg Baisden Photography. Their choice of attire mixed with the different locations they’ve chosen has made for some beautifully timeless and vivid images. I love that the ended the day oceanside, enjoying the sunset…
It’s Friday! I don’t know about you guys, but I woke up this morning and it was 58 degrees outside…where did that come from? While I’m excited about the crisp Fall weather, I’m not quite ready to let go of Summer just yet. So with that being said, today I’m going to squeeze in a sweet Arizona Wedding to cure my Summer blues.Carmen + Tomtied the knot May 28th in Flagstaff, Arizona. Carmen looked timeless in a classic J. Crew dress as she walked down the aisle in this low-key backyard ceremony. With a purple and brown color palette, the couple we’re able to achieve a laid back rustic vibe that seems to fit their personalities to a tee! They couple even shot some hoops during their reception and if I had to guess, I’d say Carmen won (she’s got wayyy better form) Thanks to Arizona photo, Michelle Koechle for capturing these beautiful images…
To beat the Monday blues, we’re kicking off the week with a charming Ontario affair fromilo photo that shows how a cloudy day can make for some lovely images. Allie + Mike were married in an intimate ceremony in her parent’s rose garden where they were encircled by their closest friends and family. Afterwards, the bridal party took some time to capture some sweet (and entertaining!) group shots. They ended the evening with a darling tented reception where Allie incorporate some rustic elements with pops of pink.
The South is home to some of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. With pristine lawns, historic buildings and a killer bar scene, I mean…first class academics, you can’t beat the education and experience you get down South and UNC is at the top of that list. Today’s darling couple, Lauren + Tom, met at the prestigious University of North Carolina in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina. To celebrate their engagement, the Tarheel fans paraded around their old stompin’ grounds with the ever-so-talented Joseph of Connections Photography. As students, the duo regularly showed their school spirit by painting themselves in Tarheel Blue before basketball and football games. So, they decided to paint themselves on more time and made for some super sweet photos. Is Lauren not gorgeous?!
Today’s bride, Colleen had the brilliant idea to select the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation as the backdrop for her bridal portraits…and boy, did it pay off! Located just over the bridge in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, this stunning Lowcountry venue is a must-see when location scouting. Once home to the 2004 movie, The Notebook, Boone Hall offers a picturesque setting for bridals, engagement sessions, rehearsal dinners and weddings.
Photographed by talented Charleston photographer, Carmen Ash, Colleen spent the day touring the property and taking advantage of the beautiful scenery. How beautiful is this Southern bride and her perfectly Lowcountry portraits?
Hey everyone! My name is Brit and I’m abloggerand wedding stylist. I was thrilled when Erin invited me to guest post while she’s off on vacation. I have been itching to share this latest color board with readers. Yellow and gray are two colors I never tire of. There is just something modern, yet classic and antique about them together that I really love. With this palette I added a splash of olive green, for added freshness, and a touch of white gives it a great backdrop. This is one of those versatile palettes that can carry from Spring to Summer to early Fall.
Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! Even though, I’m pretty excited about the idea of cooler weather (and football season), I can’t believe the summer is wrapping up. One thing I love just love about Southern Weddings, and the South in general, is the vintage feel. You know that a Southern bride is going to look classically beautiful. She’s not going to overdue it with too many accessories or crazy hair and make up. It’s more about her personal style then the current trends and fads. She has a timeless appeal in every aspect of her wedding day, from her flower selection to the choice of music and the end result is always a stunning affair. That’s what I love about Shannon’s Orchard House Bridal Shoot from our friends at Connections Photography. I’m pretty sure I was gasping as scrolled through every image.
Her hair – perfect. Earrings – love ‘em. Setting – Nailed it. Go ahead…get your swoon on!
