I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break. Can you believe it’s already December? We spent holiday weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where I quickly learned that I’m the worst skiier ever. Trust me, I’ve got the bruises to prove it. To kick off December, I thought I’d share this beautiful Savannah wedding from Donna Von Bruening at the Westin Savannah. I have a soft spot for gorgeous Savannah Weddings and this beauty is no different! I love how Ashley incorporated her newly married last name, King, into all of their details and I’m especially digging their elegant purple color palette. Enjoy!
Who doesn’t love kicking their Monday morning off with a cheery Charleston Wedding! With the help of that talented team over at Breeze, Michelle + Jeremy tied the knot at one of our favorite venues, Lowndes Grove Plantation, where they were married outdoors on the banks of the Ashley River. Branch Design Studio whipped lovely arrangements with punches of pink and orange, while Fish treated the guests to their signature cuisine! As always, we thank STUDIO 1250 Photography for capturing all the lovely details!
Jessica + Ryan tied the knot this summer at one of the Lowcountry’s most-sought after wedding venues, Boone Hall Plantation. A lively color palette of pinks and greens thoughtfully accented all of their Southern details, starting with the lovely, navy LulaKate bridesmaids dresses and continuing with the bride’s shoes, flowers, and groom’s cummerbund and bow-tie. Playing a key role in their charming Charleston wedding day were their lovable pups who were dressed to impress in studly bow-ties! Jessica arrived to the ceremony in a fairytale-style horse-drawn carriage as she strolled down the aisle lined with mason jars of local cotton. Thanks to Riverland Studios for capturing their perfect Lowcountry Wedding!
It totally slipped my mind that yesterday was Veterans’ Day (which might explain why I showed up at the County Treasurer’s Office to pay my car taxes and no one was there. Whoopsies!). Had I remembered, I absolutely would have shared Robyn + Andy’s quaint Heritage Plantation wedding from Dana Cubbage Wedding Photography but instead, we’ll just share it today! Since the lovely Dana Cubbage was there to capture all the details, it’s only fitting we let her tell their love story…
”Andy is in the Air Force and based in Louisiana, while Robyn lives and works in Missouri. These two have spent so much time apart, but their love for each other – and Robyn’s 10 year old son, Drake – is evident. One of my absolute favorite moments of their day was immediately after the ceremony, Drake came up and hugged both Robyn + Andy. It was an extremely special moment.
Robyn planned the entire wedding herself. She even did her own hair and created her own bouquet! Talk about talented! She chose Heritage Golf Club after seeing photos of it online. She absolutely fell in love with the location, the large oaks, the marina, and the Spanish Moss. Oh, the Spanish Moss! Although it rained in the morning, the skies cleared in time for their outdoor ceremony beneath an oak tree. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the sunset at the marina was stunning. Robyn, Andy + their guests released wish lanterns from the dock at the end of the evening. Although the wind made it tricky, they were able to successfully launch a few. It was a beautiful sight and onlookers cheered as they took flight.”
Bride Tiffany is just adorable. She was the epitome of a Southern Belle as she strolled down the aisle in her pearls, perfect smile and big, beautiful ballgown where she met her husband, Preston, to say “I do”. Tiffany’s bridesmaids donned navy dresses, nude heels and light pink bouquets of roses while the gentlemen were dressed in grey. After an intimate, outdoor ceremony, the couple made their way over to McCrady’s for a lovely reception with their closest friends and family members. Thanks to CM Photography for capturing their beautiful Charleston Wedding day!
If you’re in the mood for a dreamy garden wedding (and don’t lie, I know you always are!), then you need to feast your eyes on this beauty captured by Pasha Belman Photography. It’s fairytale-style perfection. While Stephanie + Benjamin’s wedding didn’t take place in the Lowcountry, or even in the South for that matter, this little ol’ wedding blogger couldn’t resist when all of this pin-able heaven rolled across her inbox. But don’t you worry my little Lowcountry ladies, the fabulous Pasha Belman is not only available for destination weddings, but he’s also your guy if you’re in need of a Myrtle Beach or Charleston wedding photographer. I adore every detail of this Michigan affair from Stephanie’s show-stopping Vera gown to this swoon-worthy venue.
So, I know we’ve taken a bit of a blog hiatus, but I promise it’s been for a great cause! Over the past few months, we’ve been slaving away over the premiere issue of A Lowcountry Wedding mag. It’s been quite the process, we’ve been planning shoots, selecting real weddings and attempting to figure out the world of InDesign. We’ve had a few hang ups with some things behind the scenes, so we thank you for your patience! With it being our first issue, everything has taken a little longer than expected, but we’d rather have it perfect then send out something we’re not 100% proud of…and we promise you’re it’s going to be well worth the wait! So, to hold you over until the end of the week, we thought you’d give you a sneak peek of the beautiful cover shot by the talented Angela Cox Photography at the stunning RiverOaks. Ash and Co. Bridal killed it with model Katie Cockman hair and makeup, as she rocked a gorgeous LulaKate gown and that beautiful Moon and Lola necklace….Do you like!?!
