With Philip in the Air Force, bride-to-be Sarah faced a bit of a time crunch as she planned for her Charleston wedding this past June. With a little over a month to plan, Sarah quickly enlisted the help of Fraiche Event Design to assist her in bringing her swanky, peacock vision to life. As luck would have it, the weather was perfect, so they were able to marry in front of their closest family and friends under the picturesque Oak trees of the Legare-Waring House. With the house in the backdrop, guests were treated to a beautiful, Lowcountry evening on the lawn where bold jewel tones graced the tables and the simple lighting set the mood. You can call me a slacker all you want, but I’m officially throwing in the towel on this week and getting this long, holiday weekend started early! To keep our Lowcountry ladies tied over until we pick back up on Tuesday (yes, I said Tuesday!), we’ve got a fabulous Charleston wedding captured by Mell Bell of Richard Bell Photography to share. Before I even took a peek at the pictures, I read through the list of talented vendors and stunning venues that were involved in this Lowcountry affair and immediately, I knew it would be a wedding worth sharing. Ryan was a graduate of the Citadel (Class of ’05), so the obvious (and meaningful) choice for the ceremony venue was on the grounds of the campus at the historic Summerall Chapel. Following their nuptials, the couple and their guests headed over to the picturesque Creek Club at I’On (one of my favorite Charleston wedding venues!) for a lively evening of celebrating. The guests were treated to quite the spread from Jacob’s Kitchen, while Branch Design Studio wowed them with gorgeous centerpieces and Cupcake provided an array of tasty treats.

A few weeks ago we shared Rachel + David’s sweet Lowcountry wedding, shot by the talented Mell Bell of Richard Bell Photography, that left many of you oohhhing and ahhhing…and I can’t say that I blame you! Well, today we’ve got even more of Rachel’s bridal bliss to share with you. Rachel selected Charleston’s picturesque Magnolia Plantation and Gardens as the backdrop for her bridal portraits and I have to say it may have been the perfect decision. As she roamed the gardens, Mell Bell was on hand to capture the blushing bride (and her fabulous blue shoes!) and the stunning scenery.
I can’t think of a better way to honor our new site than to kick off the week with a fabulous Lowcountry wedding from Richard Bell Photography…so, that’s just what I’m going to do! Rachel + David said their ‘I do’s’ this past September in a beautiful waterfront ceremony at The Island House. This spectacular Charleston wedding venue is located on the banks of the Stono River and provides a coastal breeze and the perfect backdrop for those looking for a little piece of Lowcountry heaven.
The couple enlisted a team of Charleston’s most-sought after vendors to execute their Big Day! Rachel has always been a fan of scouring flea markets to find new treasures and with the help of the creative minds at Tiger Lily Weddings, they incorporated her passion into the wedding day decor. Antique birdcages were used to hold their custom programs, an old wooden game box held well wishes from the guests and a timeless typewriter greeted guests as they arrived at the ceremony. After their vows were exchanged, Mell Bell from Richard Bell Photography captured the couple in their first few moments together as husband and wife in the picturesque butterfly garden. As the sun set on the island, the trees came alive with hanging lanterns that created a warm, cozy glow. Cafe Catering treated guests to a fabulous spread of Lowcountry cuisine as they danced the night away in celebration of the adorable twosome!
