I may have taken an unannounced vacay late last week (sorry!), and while I know I may have let you guys hanging, I promised it was much needed! For starters, we wrapped up our first styled shoot at the SC Aquarium that went above and beyond my expectations. I literally cannot wait to share what we created. Then, we headed over to the Rice Mill Building to officially welcome the 1st ever NotWedding Charleston, and to say it was a blast is quite the understatement. I wrapped things up with a weekend on Kiawah and now am ready to get back at it and deliver some serious Lowcountry loveliness This first Charleston beauty comes to us from our friends Kristin Burke Photography and the gals at Ooh! Events. It took place on the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation and it included everything we love so dearly…starting with those unreal chandeliers! They incorporated a soft, feminine color palette with mason jar and burlap to create an effortless Southern evening!
I just ran across this adorable, burlap guestbook idea from Formal Fringe and just had to share it with all my Lowcountry ladies. Weddings in Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach tend to boast guest lists from all corners of the globe, so what a great way for all in attendance to show off the place they call home. Pair it with a Firefly and Lemonade during cocktail hour and I can’t think of a better conversation starter!
If it wasn’t for Pinterest, I’m not sure I would get my daily fix of Southern wedding details. Luckily, with all the talented wedding vendors that call the Lowcountry home, I don’t have to go far to get my pin on! So, today I’m sharing a serious round up of some of my favorite place setting that have recently graced my Pinterest account. Boy, do I love a good tablescape. It adds an instant dash of elegance for any Charleston, Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head Wedding! Don’t you agree?

It’s no secret that we love some Southern, burlap details up in here, and for that reason alone (oh, and some seriously gorgeous photography), we’re field trippin’ it up to Tennessee for this one-of-a-kind Southern stunner. I did a little happy dance when Amber, of Amber Davis Photography, sent over this wedding because I just KNEW you Lowcountry ladies would go crazy over it. Bailey + Chris tied the knot this past October in an outdoor ceremony followed by a tented reception on the grounds of Cheval Manor Farms. The whole event is laced with simple, yet beautiful, burlap details that give the entire day a rustic and relaxed feel. They even treated their guests to a Lowcountry-esque boil, a Smores station and even sent them packing with sweet, honey favors! Oh, and how adorable are those Toms? Love!
It’s Friiiiday and we’re wrapping up this week with an effortless Carolina Lowcountry wedding from the talented Emily Lapish Photography. The bride, Crystal, went with a preppy, Southern color palette of pink and green for her Fall affair. Her maids were outfitted in pink, strapless gowns that were accented with soft, green hydrangea bouquets. The couple tied the knot in a sweet outdoor ceremony in front of friends and family before continuing the celebration with fabulous music, food and adorable burlap details!
Crystal + Nat’s love story spans eleven years and includes many tales of missed chances and attempted introductions. Thanks to Crystal for filling us in on all the details: “2010: the year God changed my life forever. I had been on more dates that I could count with dismal results to say the least. I had cried myself to sleep more nights that I care to admit to anyone and I was slowly slipping into the abyss of despair. One Sunday morning at church something changed. I saw Nat. I knew who he was and I desperately wanted to go over and say something. I called a friend the next day and casually asked about him. She took it upon herself to give him my number, but I didn’t hold my breath that he would call…they never called. This time was different, he did call. He wanted to meet me for dinner. “At the end of the best date of my life – full of laughter, conversation and, to put it mildly, magic – he said the words I had always wanted to hear: “Can I see you again?” The next couple of months were like nothing I had ever experienced. He was what I had always dreamed of. Kind, attentive, fun. Everything I needed and had ever wanted. In November, after 6 months of bliss, my fairy tale came true. Nat Dinkins got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Through the tears and laughter I, of course, said yes!! In October 2011, I put on the white dress and veil that every girl dreams of wearing. I walked down the aisle to the man of my dreams. A man that loves me, protects my heart, and gave me the love I felt was out of my reach. In front of our family, friends and God, we began our life together. With God as center, we’ll embark on the journey we call life. Our happily ever after.”
Bentley’s on the Bay is a beautiful waterfront venue situated on the picturesque Choctawhatchee Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Last May, Bentley’s was the venue of choice to host Chris + Alyson’s rustic Southern wedding. Their wedding day was designed to a southern ‘T’ and I just know you guys are going to go crazy over these oh-so lowcountry wedding details and fabulous images from Dede Edwards Photography. With the help of florist Cari DeGregorio, Alyson’s achieved a gorgeous neutral color palette combined with our favorite classic southern elements: burlap, driftwood and cotton. Basically, it’s the perfect coastal wedding.
