It’s no secret that mint is this wedding season’s ‘it’ color and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve always loved how this soft, sweet color pairs well with any Springtime pastel shade. If you’re planning a timeless, dainty affair then make sure to check out our darling round up of the perfect ways to keep your wedding minty fresh!
It’s Friiiiday and we’re wrapping up this week with an effortless Carolina Lowcountry wedding from the talented Emily Lapish Photography. The bride, Crystal, went with a preppy, Southern color palette of pink and green for her Fall affair. Her maids were outfitted in pink, strapless gowns that were accented with soft, green hydrangea bouquets. The couple tied the knot in a sweet outdoor ceremony in front of friends and family before continuing the celebration with fabulous music, food and adorable burlap details!
Crystal + Nat’s love story spans eleven years and includes many tales of missed chances and attempted introductions. Thanks to Crystal for filling us in on all the details: “2010: the year God changed my life forever. I had been on more dates that I could count with dismal results to say the least. I had cried myself to sleep more nights that I care to admit to anyone and I was slowly slipping into the abyss of despair. One Sunday morning at church something changed. I saw Nat. I knew who he was and I desperately wanted to go over and say something. I called a friend the next day and casually asked about him. She took it upon herself to give him my number, but I didn’t hold my breath that he would call…they never called. This time was different, he did call. He wanted to meet me for dinner. “At the end of the best date of my life – full of laughter, conversation and, to put it mildly, magic – he said the words I had always wanted to hear: “Can I see you again?” The next couple of months were like nothing I had ever experienced. He was what I had always dreamed of. Kind, attentive, fun. Everything I needed and had ever wanted. In November, after 6 months of bliss, my fairy tale came true. Nat Dinkins got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Through the tears and laughter I, of course, said yes!! In October 2011, I put on the white dress and veil that every girl dreams of wearing. I walked down the aisle to the man of my dreams. A man that loves me, protects my heart, and gave me the love I felt was out of my reach. In front of our family, friends and God, we began our life together. With God as center, we’ll embark on the journey we call life. Our happily ever after.”
Even though the weather has been overly fabulous the last few months (poor Winter barely got to say hi this year!), we officially welcomed Spring this week (along with loads of pollen!). While Spring has made itself nice and cozy, I have a feeling our hot, humid friend Summer we’ll be setting up shop in the Lowcountry before we know it. Which I’m okay with because you know what comes with Summer months?! Bright, spunky colors! Our friends over at Jeray and Kim Weddings teamed up a newlywed couple for a fun, vintage day-after session designed by Brier Rose Design. With a vivid red + teal color palette, the couple was able to relax for an easy going inspiration shoot filled with darling props and beautiful natural lighting!
Today, we’ve got a big, beautiful helping of wedding fabulousness from the talented team at Richard Bell Photography. Oh, and that’s not all! Today’s couple hand selected some of Charleston’s finest wedding vendors for their classic Middleton Place affair. Kimberly + Neil were blessed with picturesque weather as they said their ‘I do’s’ in an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the grand estate. (Just wait until you see the images of Kimberly walking down the aisle…to die for!) The celebration continued in the Pavilion which was decorated to perfection with hanging wild smilax in the rafters and twinkle lights to soften the ceiling. Kimberly was hoping for a Southern, Fall wedding but wasn’t crazy about your typical Fall colors. So, with the help of Duvall Events and Tiger Lily Weddings, they went with a rich color palette of purple mixed with white hydrangeas, green hypericum berries and touches of soft white roses. The tables were adorned with natural greenery and hydrangeas to create a floral wreath around glowing silver lanterns that set the mood for the cozy, Fall affair. The team at Duvall Events did not disappoint as they treated the guests to a stunning array of Lowcountry cuisine and tasty caramel apples!
It’s no secret that I’m a little obsessed with Pinterest and once a week I like to share some of my favorite finds with all of you beautiful Lowcountry brides! We’re pretty blessed with a slew of talented hair designers who regularly create soft, elegant wedding do’s that are always very fitting of our brides and with all the buzz around Charleston Fashion Week, I can’t help but daydream about all the stunning hairstyles we’ll see this Saturday at the Charleston Bridal Show. So to prepare everyone for what’s to come this weekend, have fun drooling over this fabulous round up!
I hope everyone enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and is excited about all the festivities surrounding Charleston Fashion Week this week! We’re kicking off the week with a beautiful military affair in the gorgeous Georgia Lowcountry captured by Nashville Photographers, Jen & Chris Creed. Since the couple, Kathleen + Scott, had met at bible study while both attending college in Savannah, the historical city was the obvious choice for their January wedding. They settled on a stunning church ceremony at Trinity UMC that was followed by a joyous reception at the Savannah Yacht Club. During their engagement, the twosome was stationed in Hawaii, so Kathleen had the heavy task of planning their destination wedding from afar…and boy did she do a fantastic job! She managed to design all the gorgeous floral arrangements, the nautical-themed paisley print incorporated on their programs, favors and votives! Kerry O’Connor Cake Designs translated Kathleen’s festive theme into a fabulous, one-of-a-kind cake!
My husband is known around these parts for his rendition of, ‘I Hope You Dance.” To be honest, the boy gives Ms. Lee Ann Womack a run for her money. Just kidding but boy, does he like to belt it out! So, needless to say, I was totally over-the-moon when Lee Ann’s face showed up in this gorgeous Myrtle Beach affair from Paula Player Photography! The country singer was on hand to see her darling cousin say ‘I do’ and, of course, sing a few notes! The adorable couple, Fanci + Carl, tied the knot this past Fall at one of our favorite Lowcountry venues, the Dunes Golf & Beach Club, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. In addition to the talented Paula Player, the newlyweds enlisted the help of Myrtle Beach’s finest wedding vendors to pull off their Big Day. The team at Stunning & Brilliant Events designed and executed the entire evening to a tee while the amazing crew from Blossoms Events was behind the jaw dropping floral arrangements. All and all it was the perfect Lowcountry wedding!
