Oh, girls! Do I have a treat for you! A Lowcountry Wedding is currently in search of TWO fabulous interns to assist in our day-to-day functions AND developing…our brand, new online publication! That’s right, I said it! This summer we’ll be bringing you even more Lowcountry loveliness with our first ever mag! So, if you love reading wedding blogs, designing posts, planning and coordinating for shoots and events and have an eye for all things stylish…then you might be just who we are looking for!
Kicking off in 2011, A Lowcountry Wedding has grown to be the premier guide for Southern brides tying the knot in Hilton Head, Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Because of our continued success and growing readership (over 280,000 unique visitors last year!), we’ll be taking things to the next level as we launch our first online magazine this summer.
The positions will include:
DESIGN INTERN

- Blog content + creation

- Vendor relations
REQUIREMENTS
- Upcoming Junior or Senior in College

- WordPress Experience preferred but not required
EDITORIAL INTERN

- Creating an editorial calendar
- Bringing to life exciting, informative posts
- Social Media Assistance
- Vendor Relations
- Advertising sales
REQUIREMENTS
- Upcoming Junior or Senior in College
- Previous event planning and/or sales experience
.
We are looking for a minimum of 10-15 hours per week. The internship is unpaid and will last for 8-10 weeks but can be flexible depending on school requirements. This position can be virtual, though Charleston is preferred. We are looking for candidates who are excited to put the skills they’ve learned to the test and will make the most of this opportunity.
If interested in either position, please send your resume and cover letter to hello@alowcountrywed.com. If you are applying for the Design position, please send 2-3 samples of your favorite creations. If you’re a good fit for alowcountrywed.com, we’ll get in touch ASAP and hope to have both students in place by mid to late May.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Charleston Wedding Events {The NotWedding}
We’ve been anxiously awaiting the day when our friends at The NotWedding would grace us with their presence and, finally, they’ve answered our prayers! They’ve teamed up with the crew at Good Food Catering to host their first ever event in Charleston at the Historic Rice Mill Building this summer on June 13th! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of attending, this is a bridal event you don’t want to miss!
Complete with a sit-down dinner, an emotional ceremony and a dance-party reception, The NotWedding has become a killer alternative to a bridal show. The hand-selected vendors perform their services as they would at a real wedding, and the “wedding guests” get to hear the music, taste the cakes, and smell the flowers… while enjoying a night of great food, dancing and surprises, leaving brides-to-be saying “I want my wedding to be just like that!”.
Want to join the party? We thought you’d say ‘YES’!

Bachelorette Party {Katie}
Katie’s one of our favorite Lowcountry brides who’s getting hitched in Hilton Head in a few weeks, so we thought it was the perfect time to bust out the pics from her Bachelorette Party! That’s right, I said Bachelorette Party, and don’t worry, they’re all internet approp! Thanks to Tim Will Photography, Katie and her lively group of friends, the Bachelorette Party session has quickly been added to my list of wedding must-haves. How did we not think of this before? A killer photographer to capture you and all your best gals for one last celebratory girls weekend? Um, yes please! The girls rented a beach house in Charleston where Sarah of Tim Will Photography joined them for an evening of feather masks, adult beverages and sweet dances moves before sending them on their merry way!

Spotlight: Lindsay {Wined & Designed}
I would say, consider any additional stationery items you may need (these may include: save-the-dates, invitations, events guides for guests, maps, programs, menus, escort cards, table numbers, favor tags, thank you notes, etc…)
.Gather information! The idea is to make your experience easy, enjoyable and stress free. The more I know about a couple and their wedding vision, the better their experience & the more personal their invitations. Pull pictures from magazines/pinterest/google of anything that represents you!
Oh, and get a move on it! There are a limited number of appointments!
